MX5200/BH92/Grapple/Need answers.

Hello,

I have a MX5200 that came with a 3rd Function. I ran into a good deal on a BH92 with frames and had it installed. Once we installed the BH92 we found that the 3rd Function was already using the ports that the Backhoe needed to operate. The shop called Kubota and both Kubota places said that you cannot run a 3rd Function if a MX has a Backhoe. I find this unbelievable. Can anyone show me your MX tractor with a BH92 Backhoe and 3rd Function for a grapple? Or, tell me where we can tie into the system to run both?

A diverter-valve and you can run either/or…. just not both at one time…??

My old MX5800 had a backhoe and 3rd function all dealer installed so it can be done without and diverter valve as mentioned above.

I would have to see the details of the third function to get specific. But in general you simply power the backhoe from the power beyond port on the third function.

E.G. loader power beyond port feeds third function valve, third function power beyond port feeds backhoe outlet. backhoe returns to sump.

I looked and did not find an OEM third function valve for your tractor. Can you post a picture of the one on your tractor? If its a typical third party valve hookup is trivial. Did you get the tractor side outlrts and hoses for the backhoe?

That is what Kubota is telling us, there is no oem 3rd Function option. I find this to be crazy. I know Kubota will sell the tractor with both a hoe, and grapple on the MX, I've seen them. I will try to get photos.

The 3rd party valves are usually dead simple.

1. Loader power beyond is connected to IN on 3rd function valve.
2. OUT on 3rd function valve is connected to return on tractor hydraulic oitlet block.

To add the hoe reroute the 3rd function OUT to the rear for the backhoe female coupler. Run the backhoe male coupler back to the hydraulic outlet biock. Done.

I don’t really know what is recommended for your machine, or how the plumbing works, and I don’t know the spec differences between your machine (that’s right I don’t know much )and mine…but I bought this in Ohio (I see you are from the great state as well)…Green and Sons set this up for me and it has 3rd function, 3 rear remotes and a BH92. So I think your original post is possible. You asked for pics, here are the pics…I don’t know how to do myself, but I would absolutely recommend that dealer mentioned above. I hope this helps.

Seems to come up often. This is of a gl60 however, functionally it is the same. Gray is optional direct to tank from third function. The hose elbow from the left(orange) is from the pb of loader valve. This feeds third function solenoid. The pb/return from the solenoid block will then go to inlet of bh(far left west hose). The outlet/pb of backhoe goes to right inlet elbow, this feeds the three point. The two hoses going to the top left of the picture form the bh loop...

This is on my tractor I just used the other day. The tractor has front third function with remote hydraulic ssqa, factory backhoe, and three rear remotes. it all works just fine. Just MAKE sure to put the backhoe just before the three point in the pb circuit otherwise you can mess up the seals from the pulsing pb pressure loading, which is why they prob say you cannot do this. However if you install it the way I describe it is no different than the loader>bh>three point. Dealers mess up trying to give more priority flow to the bh, and that is a mistake.
