I agree. But with the HUGE surge in popularity of IBC tanks for homeowner use, why release a new tractor/loader model that cannot pick up one of the most common items on small/medium “homesteads” (how I hate that term)?
Tractors and loaders are matched by weight class and lifting capacity, I would not want to lift more than a ton with my MX. I’d want a heavier tractor to lift more weight.

Maybe you would help me understand something: If you're not going to use or rent out 13 acres of SW Missouri Ozarks field why don't you let it grow into grass meadow, which would then support [scrub] trees, then decent trees? The grass would die back, you brush-hog the scrub, and are left with nice trees. Or mow it all and plant fruit trees?

I'm sure there are reasons I in Wisconsin do not understand though would like to understand.
I want to maintain the fields, cut around 4" tall, let grow up three weeks and cut again, I don't like the "scrub brush look" ... That's what I had when I bought it three years ago ... The back 7 acres.

I now have 3 apple, and one peach tree planted, and a whole bunch of elderberry ... I also use a tote for watering my trees ... No law that says it needs to be full ... My little overgrown lawn mower only can pick up 50 gallons at a time ...

IMG_20240917_171458018.jpg

The front 6 acres was an established hayfield ... Last year after the first cutting which was thin and weedy, the local ag extension guy recommended that cutting it at 5" every 3-4 weeks would get rid of the weeds producing more seeds ...

IMG_20230829_164603784.jpg

But by fall I resorted to buying a 12' sprayer and just killed them all!

Had a good hay crop of excellent quality this early summer, but nobody wanted to pay for it, so had to sell it at the going rate of weedy hay ... I'm not gonna sell weeds, or good hay as weeds.

meh

My tractor weighs close to 7000lbs as it currently sits without the ballast box. It can handle an extra 200lbs on the front to make life so much easier for (absolute guess) 70% of owners.

So, coming back to the OP's situation, where would you be trailering the MX too? It looks like it's 3700 lbs without the loader. The loader does come off reasonably easily. Would you need the loader when you trailer it, could you trailer the loader separately the few times you need it? If you don't load the tires it'll be easier to trailer, just means finding another way of ballasting it.....and given you're mainly mowing, filled tires are a recipe for a hard ride....empty tires probably make it more comfortable.

It is of course your choice to do whatever you want, but I'm just checking you've looked carefully at all your options. Once you have an MX with a loader, you'll wonder why you'd have ever considered trying to live with the SCUT. When I moved from a BX to a B I got a lot more done....a step to an MX would be amazing.

Anyone using an MX6000 in cold winter climates? How have their emissions systems been performing? Any regen issues in the cold?

I've not had any issues with regen in the cold with either MX6000 that I've owned. Last winter I only had one regen in something like 40 hours and that was pushing snow at 2,000 rpm and blowing snow at 2,200 rpm and only getting the revs up to 2,600 rpm when coming back up the lower driveway.

Thank you all for the input. The MX looks pretty good but im going to make the Jump to a M6060 and if i need more power there is options.
I sold my LX with like 23hrs on it and should have never bough it. Live and learn.
I have a ford 1720 R1s, loader 4x4 that does a lot of work around and a old jubilee.
iwe have a can in the barn for the 1720 but it vinyl doors need to be replaced. so i do have cab tractor option for cold weather. Sucks in the summer though lol
At this point im going to look used and see what kinda deals come up for M6060/7060

Im a sucker for older IH tractors and if i need more HP i wouldn't be opposed to a 806 /1066 or something.

As an owner of two MX6000s (still have one) and an M6060 I think you're making a great choice by moving up to the M6060! The M6060 is way more tractor than the MX6000 for only a "marginal" increase in cost. They are such different animals and I'm lucky to have both with no intention of parting with either.

That said, if I had to part with one it would be the MX for the simple reason that there's nothing the MX can do that the M can't, but there's plenty that the M can do that the MX can't. I have a lot of mowing to do on a my very hilly property and I've done it with the MX and Land Pride RCR1884, but it's way more efficient and way more enjoyable with the M and Land Pride RC3712. The M handles the hills and load with ease but the MX is taxed to be honest.

The M rides better, is more fuel efficient, has a bigger 4-cylinder engine, has a nicer control layout (ergonomic), nicer (smoother) controls, has way more torque and usable hp, pulls better, more PTO hp, has a better HVAC system, has external lift cylinders, way more lift capacity at both ends, runs cooler, is much more comfortable etc., and don't forget that you can buy a programmer that will turn your M6060 into an 80hp+ machine with no regens to deal with.

I added Creep range to mine, along with a third rear remote, third function, wheel weights, Rim Guard, front weights, top-n-tilt, and swapped out the front wheels and tires for 320/85R20 Farm Pros. I have close to the perfect tractor for me, but as I've said before, had I ordered an M rather than bought off the lot, it would have been the M7060 with F18/R18 rather than the F12/R12 that I have. Having closer gear ratios is a good thing but the F18/R18 has worked well for me so maybe it's a nice to have rather than a need to have.

One more thing, peak torque is at 1,400 rpm and with the programmer you can run at that rpm all day long without any issues.

I hardly ever see used Kubota M series tractors for sale up here, but more than a few Kioti RX7320s pop up fairly regularly, with low hours too. There's an RX7320 cabbed model for sale near me at the moment that's a 2022 with only 23 hours on it. $47k is on the high side but my guess is that they're trying to get all of their initial investment back.

I so see way more RKs than M for sale, but the M seems to be a beefier machine and i also have a fantasic family owned Kubota dealers 20 mins away.
i have a New holland dealer that picked up Kioti 5 ish years ago, but all that had was glorified lawn mowers

I'm with you all the way. I'd still look at Kubota before any other brand, all the way up to an M8, and like you I have an excellent dealer very near to me (3 miles) and have a great relationship with them. Good luck with your search. I hope you find a nice one, whatever model it is! (y)

Who makes the programmers? I thought they were only available for the bigger tractors.

Reimer Tuning in Canada offers programmers for many models, and ECU reflashes (bench) for models that aren't supported with a programmer.

That makes a new M7060 tempting again!
I think it makes a lot of tractors tempting, but 100% on the M7060. You can end up with an 85hp+ tractor with no DPF, no DEF, no regens, no EGR and potentially much better longevity.
