Put new battery in my MX 5000. Cranks strong and have smoke coming out exhaust, but won’t fire. Glow plug light does not go off when I try to heat them up. Any suggestions before I haul it in to town?

Texas tractor so cold is usually not an issue. Put it up for winter, so has not run in about 4 months. This thing always starts, so it’s something new from sitting.

Have you checked fuel and fuel flow?
It sitting that long, you could have an algae issue.
Pull the separator and look for black or brown slime.
Was the battery completely dead?
did you jump it?
Check all fuses, look under the hood by the radiator too.
A blow fuse to a fuel solenoid can cause issues too.

A good list of things I can check. I did pull the fuel filter and diesel looks clean. My old battery was dead and had a bad cell so I just put a new one in today. I will check all fuses in the morning. Might also purge fuel Lines in case I have some air.
