PLEASE HELP ME GET THIS MACHINE TO WORK... My dad was the mechanic he could do almost everything plumbing, electrical, woodwork, welding... I cant do any of that stuff really good. Well he worked at Shell/Motiva for almost 40 years and he loved to fish. His bass fishing team got back from some big tournament in Texas when we released we were all EXTREMELY SICK ... COVID ... Long story short my DAD died because his lungs couldn't keep up... Not getting in too to it because I found myself trying to keep up his 4 1/2 yard I Ive been really good at handing him things but he always ran the show... I'm sooo FAR outta my league it ain't FUNNY ... I tried by passing to two lever switches and that seemed to work until last week when the mower wouldn't start... SO I started at the Battery and worked my way forward.. when I was satisfied everything looked OK. I Tried to start it again AND PRESTO .... FIRST TRY NO PROBLEM them..... I disengage the brake to go forward and it DIES. Same situation in reverse. lol IT FEELS LIKE 100 degress today but i wanted to see what type of safety switch the seat has

Sorry about your dad, took me a long time when my father passed, still think about him after all these years. The older I get the smarter he was.
Flip the seat up, there should be a wire going to the seat safety switch.
If is is a "normally open" switch it will "close" when you sit in the seat.
Unplug the wire going to the switch, insert a jumper wire into the connection, mower side not the seat.
Close the seat, start the mower, see if it shuts off when you disengage the brake. If it still runs you need a new seat safety switch.
If that doesn't work report back and we'll go from there. One step at a time.

Looking at K-Pad it appears the seat and switch are sold as one unit.
Can you buy just the switch? Seems odd if you can't.

No the switch is not sold seperatly, at least not by Kubota.

Something similar happed to my dad…I sure miss him.
Like most of us, I suspect your dad learned to do all those things by “actually trying to fix things” and I suspect it will be the same for you. (thats how we all learn/learned I guess)
So heres your first lesson I suppose…………...
Get a cheap Digital Volt Ohm Meter..(DVOM) and YouTube “continuity testing”.
Then test the switch and see if its good or bad.
Trust me,…….Firing off the “Parts Cannon” is/will be/almost always is, expensive and frustrating.
Let us know if the switch is good/bad.
