Mower Deck Tension Spring

I am having trouble keeping the blades tight so today I took them apart and cleaned them up but now I can't the belt spring tension back on. Any idea?

I'm assuming it has a idler pulley that puts tention on the belt. If the spring doesn't have any adjustment to it you might try this. Put the belt on but leave it off the idler. When you have the spring in place hook a ratchet strap to the idler and pull you some slack. Work the belt on and let the strap loose.

your deck has a small hole in it just to the rear of the pulley. slip the end of
the spring onto a drift punch about 12" long. put the end of the punch in the
hole on the deck and slip the spring on Just make sure your
wearing leather gloves. check the manual also it should tell you how.

The two washers go between the blade and nut, the washers are cupped, make sure the concave side goes towards the blade.
