Had three in my life - and 250 enduro when I was 18-21 , lotttttttttts of fun, then I hit midlife crisis and got a 500 twin , then a 4 bagger kaw zzr 600 - that mofo would roll!:D

I got to the point that I worried about the "other" people on the road so much that I could not enjoy the ride. Sold my 600 two years ago.......bout the time I landed on an ORANGE 4 wheeler!:D:)

I always look out for my 2 wheeling friends on the road:)

Started out with a Suzuki 400cc 1 cylinder, that was a kick start only at 18. Sold that and bought another Suzuki 500 sport bike. Got rid of that at 21. Then bought a California custom at 26. Had a 1340cc s&s motor, and just like a Harley soft tail. And fast as hell!!! Bike ended up being a death trap. Had a car cut me off on the highway. Swerved around them and had the front fender lock into the frame. Hit a curb sideways at 50 mph and got tossed  actually landed on my feet :D Found out a couple weeks later while talking to a friend that witnessed it that the bike actually did a 360° flip sideways, landed on the tires in the middle of the side walk and then tossed me  Happened so fast I didn't even realize. Just assumed it hopped the curb and then tossed me. Put the bike back together, figuring I used up nine out of ten lives and sold it. Haven't been on another bike in eight years.

BMW R1200RT now. Sold my KZ1000, old R65, R80 and F650 GS last summer. Always looking. Considering a 77 R100 now. It is a sickness that I do not want to recover from. Been riding 55 years. I used to ride 25,000 km on a good year but slowing down. 8,000 is a good year now.

2009 Suzuki vstom 650 and a 2008 Yamaha WR250R for me and a 2007 Vstorm and a 2008 wr250X for my son. The WRs are great little bikes and so much fun off road. The stroms are great road bikes and cheap to own. My son and I rode my Strom 2 up with camping gear from Ohio to Maryland last summer to buy his Strom and he rode it home. Headed to Tennessee the first week in April to ride. Maine some time this summer.

I have had 2 life flight rides in 2 years. The first one I was hit by a truck and broke my leg the 2nd one was last Nov. a deer jump into me at 45 mph. Broken color bone, shoulder, rib and punctured lung. Thought about giving it up but I couldn't come up with anything else that enjoy doing more.

My poor old gal is slowly turning in to a garage queen. seems since I retired I have less time to ride than I did before. Which reminds me I do need to change oil ( M1 15w50) Trannie ( Red Line Super Shock) and Primary too. I hope I can put more than 2000 miles on her this year

alan,

Our town is infested with deer. I am always waiting for one to jump out... That is my biggest worry. Our town is the Sturgis of Arizona with thousands of bikes headed this way next week for Bike Week. The people are bike aware. The deer are not.

It was a gl 400 one cylinder. I used to make more money betting people they couldn't start it since it was a kick start :D I wouldn't tell them about the compression release lever  I lost count of how many people that bike tossed over the handle bars :D:cool:

Started with a loaned 1986 Yamaha SRX600 that we had serious carb issues with, but once we cleaned it up with the ultrasonic cleaner, started first kick every time after. Was a fun bike to learn on, but not so fast it would get me in trouble....

My first bike was a 2004 Suzuki SV650n which was an awesome all around bike.
Ended up with front shock revalving and oil change, power commander, yoshi and a few other mods. Was a blast to ride. A lady cut out in front of me from a side street when I was doing at least 50 and the bike landed 330ft away...and I slid about 70 on my hands and backside. Sprained my ankle, blew apart my shoes, wore through my gloves, jacket and jeans, but walked away from that one. VERY lucky. Was able to fix the bike up and rode it for another several thousand miles.

Graduated by selling that and getting my buddies 2003 Kawasaki Z1000 with 30shot of nitrous.
Fun bike but honestly the SV was more fun to ride.

Sold the Z1000 after a year and got a Kawasaki Mean Streak 1500.

Loved that bike. Still pretty quick, handled nice, rode GREAT on the highway, no vibration to speak of, I will have another one.

I have a baby on the way and felt it was smart to take a break from bikes for a little bit so I picked up a 2002 LS1 6sp firebird with t tops.
I will have a bike again soon...

Oh, so my toy for this year instead of a bike was a Takeuchi TB125 Excavator! Thumb with aux hyd, 3700hrs, 80% tracks, and wain-roy QT bucket.

Now with my B9200 I have enough toys to keep me busy this summer!

I started with a Cushman Eagle when I was a kid. Then I put the two wheelers away while I was busy with family and a career. Got back into it in '79 with a Suzuki 550GL, then went to a full dress Harley, and finally now a 880 Sportster with 1200 jugs on it.

My friends & I used to trailer the bikes to Daytona for speed week but never did Sturgis .
Riding season in Northern Wisconsin is pretty short as it is, and throw in bad weather days it becomes much shorter again.

I was on the verge of selling it last year, but nothing beats "Two wheels and a Sunny day"!

We went for a ride yesterday after work and about a 1/2 hour into it I see a deer in the woods running towards the road. I slowed down and sure enough it ran right across the road. Deer seem so smart when you are hunting them but so stupid when it comes to motor vehicles.

Started out on a 1976 Kawasaki KE 175, I bought sometime in the early 90s with money I earned own my own. First real thing I ever bought on my own. Loved it!! Road the wheels off of it, then sold it two years later for what I bought it for.

Fast forward a number of years later and bought a barely used Suzuki Katana 600, great easy to ride bike but had to sell it before I killed myself.

Again a couple years later all my buddies were into dirt bikes, so I bought a 2002 yz250F. Really wanted a 400 or a 450 but couldn't pass up the deal I got on the 250. Never had any problem keeping up with the bigger bikes at all, 90% rider-10% bike I believe is the saying. For anyone who hasn't ridden one of the newer high revving 4 strokes, they are a beast!!

Sold that one and bought a 2003 KTM 450 exc with the intention of making it street legal but never got to it. Hadn't been riding near as much so traded it in towards my daughters car.

I have acquired a 2002 yz250, a smoker baby!!, my buddy has given to me for storing for a number of years.

Also have a 1985 Honda CB 125S, fun little bike to put around town on and a 2009 Honda Ruckus Scooter=, just for fun of course.

In the future I plan to have a Yamaha FJR 1300, better payoff the Kubota first. lol...

Honda ST1100 now.
Before that:
BMW R100RS
BMW R75/5 (long frame)
Honda CX500 (the baby ST)
Honda CM400T

The ST is by far the most trouble free bike of the bunch, even if it does need to go on a Weight Watchers program. Just fill the tank, ride 350 miles (highway) then do it again. Wish I had kept the RS just because of the rarity and the /5 cause now I think it'd be cool to have a sidecar rig and that would've been a classic. The old air-head Beemers took their fair share of maintenance no matter what the diehard BMW guys tell you. The old /5 did have a 4 speed tranny which I still kind of miss. Used to wear out a pair of tires in a summer pretty easy but now....
Longest trip - Mt. Vernon Ohio to San Fran Ca. two up & camping all the way out and back (on the RS). Wifey was 6 weeks pregnant with our oldest, now he's a freshman in college.
