More lifting power for 3pt...

Wondering if it is possible to get more lifting power out of the 3pt of a B7100hst. I have the 21 1/2hp in it from the previous owner, great power for this size tractor. I just wish it would lift more. Is it even possible, and if it is, what do I need? Thanks!

WOW, you have and engine in your B that is 33% more powerful than stock? I would love to see that engine !:eek::)

To lift more - you will either need a pump that will increase the pressure or a pressure regulator to be stepped up to handle a higher PSI.

On the BX series - several of us have taken the normal 1750 PSI and bumped it up to around 2000 PSI with some very thin shims.

I am not sure it is possible on the B7100HST - however - if so - I would be careful as to not wanting to pick up any more on the backside, because whatever you gain in the rear the front will pay the price. If you were to pick up 300 more on the 3 point on the rear - you would need extra weigh on the front of the machine to counter the force being applied. Even with all that - the frame was not designed to handle the excess if placed on it.;)

Would be best to refer to your manual, perhaps the pressure is a little low. Im sure one of the gurus here will chime in with their vast knowledege and experience.

Shorter 3 point arms and relocating vertical links would improve mechanical advantage. 10 % would be all i would hope for or even risk to prevent any bigger issues.

On my b7100 I was having trouble lifting the rear mounted snowblower especially if it had gotten packed with wet snow and or covered with a heavy build up of ice.
To increase the lift strength I drilled an additional set of holes in the lower lift arms about 3" closer to the end that connects to the implement. This moved the lifting point of the side links closer to the weight of the snowblower thus changing the mechanical advantage. I can't tell you exactly how much more I can lift but it did help.

I have that same combo in my B7100, Look at my thread on the B7100 D750 to D950 conversion. It's not a lot of work at all, and yes you can tell the HP increase. ;):D

Is the pump on the B7100 crankshaft driven? If so, a simple pump upgrade would probably do the trick.

Yes you can put a pump off of a B8200, But I don't think that's your issue.
My stock b7100 pump runs both my loader and three point, and the three point can lift more than the tractor can handle.
Can you post a picture of your three point setup?

I think a smaller rear loader would be more appropriate.
You have a small framed tractor not a large one. Keep pushing it and you will find an expensive failure such as when the top link assembly breaks off the tractor.

Well real simple your trying to do too much with the lift!
The three point on that model is rated at 400lbs at the end of the lift arms, and goes down as you move away from the tractor.

It's over loaded, by how much I couldn't tell you, but it's over.

Simple test to see if you have any issues at all with the lift, put 400lbs on a bar or plank on top of the three point arms and see if it will lift that, if it does then it's fine if it doesn't then we can look at other issues.

And no changing the pump will not give you more lifting power in this case.

I dont get it, that rear bucket has to weigh 150. So it will carry 250, maybe.
My L1501 will carry a 575 lb snowmobile on a pallet -barely. It does lift it, but doesent like it.

A stronger pump won't work? Would short arms help? The few vids they have on that loader they have it on a little 300 series john deere and it lifts it fine.

The only thing that I can see from the pictures that would help out is reconfigure how the lift arms attach to the bucket to winded them out as much as possible. That will bring the attachment a bit closer to the tractor which makes a huge difference. Grapes, don't forget dirt can be quite heavy. Fill a 5 gal bucket up and throw it on the bathroom scale, then see how many buckets you have been filling it up with. That will give you an idea how much you can go with it.

Another thought would be to cut that attachment apart and weld the A frame directly to the bucket. Then throw a hydraulic top link on there to dump the bucket. That would bring it closer to the tractor as well, but definitely more involved.

Are you maxing out the engine throttle before lifting?
