MMM mounting problem - how common?

I have a new BX25D and I took the 60" mid mount mower off to run wiring for my ROPS lights. I had a bit of trouble taking it off but of course gravity helps a bit with that. When I went to remount it I could not get the lift arms to go over the mounts on the mower. It took me hours and a little luck to get it back on. Should it be this difficult? I had a Simplicity Legacy that had the same size deck and was actually heavier but that one was easy to take on and off except for the weight. The dealer is sending someone to look at it tomorrow so we'll see what they say. It just seems like the mounting points on the mower are about 1/8 to 1/4" too wide for the lifting links.

Any other owners want to chime in on their experiences?

Getting the holes to line up is a royal PITA.....find you a large ice pick or phillips head screwdriver and that will help force the holes into alignment.

Mine were hard to get back in alignment- the amount of "free" play aint much!

When I take my mower off which is once a year I make sure I power wash it clean underside thoroughly repaint it change gearbox oil and sharpen blades because it is such a pia. Once a year is enough !

I have several long handle punches , like 8" and 12" craftsman that I use for hole alignment a lot more then what they were intended for. If it came off. It will go on.

Had problems with mine. What I found was that the mounts on the [ back of the deck] the u part of the saddle were welded in a bit crocked. I ended up taking my angle grinder and just shaved off a bit of the u on each side to make it more even. What I'am trying to say is that the u part was sort of cockeyed the top sat out more then the bottom. Hope you get what I'am trying to say. and now its no problems installing the deck.

So the guy from the dealer just left...... with my tractor. He could not get it attached either. I showed him how I had to roll the deck all the way to the back wheels, lower the lift arms all the way, then roll the deck back forward and then lift the arms using hydraulic pressure to force them back over the mounts. He said that what I'm experiencing is not right. He's going to have the service dept look at it. I'll get it back early next week. I'll update you all with what they find.
