While you could mount the auger to the backhoe the BX23's hydraulic
flow rate is very low, something like 3.7 GPM. It may not have the flow
to drive the auger properly.

It should ru but slow. I adapted a mini ex sickle bar mower to run off my 3rd function and it works.

I bought one of the augers but flipped it before trying it.

They make different size augers that require different amounts of hydraulic flow, and can run different size bits.

If you want to try it, check the specs and get the closest you can to your flow and pressure.

Just as an fyi if it turns too slow it won’t remove dirt from auger, you might need to do that by hand. Also probably depends on your soil type and if you have any roots or rocks you have to drill through

I don't think your gonna have any luck running an auger off a BX hyd.
the first big egg you hit will stop it dead or break something.
probably need Hi-Flow

better off with 3pt.
but thats not an easy swap with the BX23S
the backhoe and mounting plates need to come off / mount your 3 pt. then mount the auger.

big hassle.

I thought the BT603 BH had a flow of 6.6 GPM at 2,200 psi.
That is at the lower range of most PHD's so yeah the RPM's would also be at the lower range as well.

My LX3310 is rated at 5 GPM. Both the sickle bar and auger I bought for a mini ex were rated at 8 to 15. Like I said, the sickle bar works fine but I didn't try the auger. The hose fittings are some oddball sizes but I had them cut off and some JIC fittings installed on the hoses that came with them.

When I hit something too large for the sickle bar to cut it binds. I just have to hit the reverse button and back off. I imagine the same will go for the auger if it hangs up.
