I am supposed to pick up my miller 212 today, I can't wait. I was going to go with the 211 unit but decided to step up. 211 had a 30% duty cycle while the 212 has a 60% duty cycle. I figured this is something I will have for years so best to get the bigger model.

Congratulations! You won't regret it, plus the heavier duty welder will be easier to resale if you chose to move up to the next level.

I recently bought a 211. I'm a rookie just learning to weld. Took a short adult ed welding class which I think will help get me off the ground. Have yet to do much except lay down a few beads. No projects yet but that may soon change. Thinking of building a 3 pt hitch carry-all for my Kubota L3400. May just buy the frame and build the box. You can pick up a carry-all frame for about $125-$150. Not sure I can build one for that if you consider time and materials but would be a good beginner project. Just plan to use it to teach myself to weld and general purposes around my 60 acre hobby farm. Got a few projects in mind. Thinking of building a 2' x 3' welding table, and a mobile work bench suitable for moving from place to place within my shop. Good luck with your 212.

I would recommend making the mobile work bench and the welding table the same height. Then if you have something longer to weld, you can slide the mobile table under it for support :D

Just finished setting it up. I need to change the plug out on my extension cord, can't wait to run it.

Buy yourself a sleeve-to protect your stinger cable.even a simple leather one with snaps. Will keep blobs of weld from damaging it,i ran a similar welder for a couple years at my former place of work and loved it. Very nice welder. Just a few heavy spatters to burn the cord and i covered it to prevent failure.

The welding charts inside the front cover are right on the money, sounded odd at first compared to old mig i was using. Just a nice sizzle. You will enjoy it.

Welding bench, work bench ,cord and tool holders first on the agenda. Couple T stands with heavy bases. I use one to rest arm for taller welding projects.a steady hand makes for neater welds.

Great looking unit and congrats!! You will enjoy using it and I am positive will never be sorry you got a stronger unit. I have been considering the same two models. Have not taken the plunge just yet but leaning hard to the same model. Looking forward to seeing a few of your projects.

I've had a MM-175 for years and love it. Just used it to weld some fatigue broken brackets on the tractor yesterday. I really want a 210 or above, preferably a 252, but haven't found one I could justify for the difference. And my Sync 351 also reduces the pressure to upgrade. Anyway, that is a fine machine and it will serve you well for most anything you may encounter. Congratulations!

I love it, it's been years since I put a bead down but they still look ok.

Practice makes perfect. Good looking bead. I doubt you'll regret going for the bigger machine for the duty cycle. ;)

The miller i was using, the duty cycle never was an issue. I did lots of heavy welding.is going to be my next welder without a doubt. Nice bead, too bad inverted /overhead cant look that nice. At least for me

I think my first project is to build a stand for my dewalt chop saw. I have a feeling that now that I have my new toy I will be needing to use the saw more. I was thinking to build it on casters so I can move it around my garage. My New Years resolution is to clean up my garage/workshop so it is more user friendly.

Chopsaw stand was one of my first projects. Put saw in a tray to catch debris, put tray on swivel to align with workpiece for angled cuts. Especially handy with long stock. Homemade shop tools greatest thread ever- check out hokey ass message board. Car builders all posting their ideas that work.space savers or to just make things easier.

It was 2 decades ago but my first and second mig welder jobs were frame narrowing and tubbing out 1st. gem Camaros for drag racing, I miss those days but not the expense. Wow those were the days...

I got a Miller 251 and love it...
