Mid Mount Mower availability

I bought a new B2601 last fall and the dealer still cannot get the mid mount mower that I ordered. I love the tractor and the grapple but I am tired of the rear finishing mower tearing up the yard and am getting impatient to receive the mmm that I paid for. Anyone else still experiencing supply chain problems for Kubota?

Have you tried calling other Kubota dealers like Messicks and see if they have one? Dealers will sometimes work things out amongst themselves (trade) to accommodate customers needs. My b2601 purchased from a dealer near Pittsburgh has a plastic band on the loader indicating it came from the Messicks dealership located several hundred miles away. My dealer handled my order without my input. I teach my children that one must advocate for themselves as many people are lazy and don't care. The downside is I piss a lot of people off. Make some calls. Good luck.

I bought my B2601 in April ‘22. At the time supplies were tight for attachments, especially those with hydraulic cylinders. But things were starting to loosen up a bit. I speced a 60” MMM and was told they could have it from a warehouse several hundred miles away in a few days. So it gets to sign on the doted line time and they tell me they have no ETA on the MMM and the last one they sold was 10 mos prior. I happened to have seen a 54” MMM in the box in their yard and told them sell that one to me or keep all of it. I’ve had it since then. Supplies have gotten much better since then. I think you need to check with some other dealers because I’m seeing them at my dealer.

Personally I find the MMM to be an absolute PITA it's in the way for dirt work. It's also slower than using a Zero Turn mower. I would get the money back and use it to buy a Zero Turn.

Lol. Most zero turn mowers won’t run a FEL, brush hog, rototiller, back blade, snow plow or a grapple (or dozens of other implements). Some sites aren’t suitable to a zero turn mower. Some folks don’t need to mow at 12 mph either. The cool thing about the MMM, they can come off and go back on in a mater of a handful of minutes. YMMV.

To each their own but my old B series I used the MMM twice. Then got smart an put it away in the barn till I sold the tractor for the new LX. As I said you can't do dirt work without the MMM getting beat or just plain in the way. I have better things to do the putting the deck on and off every week... Plus with the Zero turn I'm done mowing in half the time it took to mow with the B....

Got it So you have a zero turn and an LX. Myself, I have the B lawn mower and an L. The L does any consequential work. Probably not everyone gets to have two (or more) machines like us. In which case that B with a MMM might just be the ticket.

Personally, I mow some steeper ground that the 4WD on the B is nice to have. I use it to tow small stuff in tight areas too. But 90% plus to mow grass.

Opinions are like elbows, most of us have one or two and the internet sure makes it easy to share them.

Personally, I mow some steeper ground that the 4WD on the B is nice to have. I use it to tow small stuff in tight areas too. But 90% plus to mow grass.

Opinions are like elbows, most of us have one or two and the internet sure makes it easy to share them.

The MMM on 4x4 B series is definitely the ticket if you got nasty banks to mow. It cuts every bit as nice as a zero turn too.

The ongoing discussion. I have a B2601 with a MMM. I take the mower on and off most weeks at the moment, and I take the loader on and off most weeks. I don't mow with the loader on, and I don't do dirt work with the MMM on. I've timed myself at 1 minute to take the mower off, 2 minutes to put it back on. Even made a video. No lying on the ground. Takes about the same to take the loader on and off. I think people make this a bigger issue than it really is.

The sales guy, 5 years ago, asked did i want the MMM for my BX23S ? NO ! I bought the TLB for TLB work NOT cutting my lawn.. Back then deck was $2500+ taxes,would easily buy 2-3 used riders,which would outlive me.
Everyone's got a different sized lawn and barn and wallet, so it's what works best for YOU that counts.

Bingo.

I have MMMs for both my B1750 and B3350.

Either one can be used to mow very steep areas where ZTRs simply cannot go, and I do so routinely.

Mowers go on all of my tractors each spring and almost never come off until fall when FELs go on.

Can install or remove either MMM in about 20 minutes.

I bought my B2601 a few months ago. The dealer said they didn't have any 60 inch mowers available but he did have a 54 inch deck in stock at another store. I took it.

Have him do a dealer inventory search. 54 inch decks are more available than 60 inch decks.

Or that's what I was told. . .

every 54" deck needs 10 passes that a 60" does in 9.........
so going bigger doesn't seem to be worthwhile
what's the price difference of deck, belts, blades ???

If you typically run a 6 inch overlap, it might be 10 vs 8. It's probably not really that material, but I personally would always go for the bigger deck.

bigger isn't better when you find out the gate is 61"......
then it's 'thread the needle' time and I bet most can't .
especially when the deck 'wiggles' a bit.....

found that out at local farm, MF TO-35 JUST fits through the gate,dead slow ,has just 1" of clearance.
