Looking for thoughts on meteor snowblowers =. Have a chance to buy one that a friend of mined owned since new. Wondered how they compare to the others like RAD, Argo trend which is Arts Way, Woods, Nor Trac and etc.. It will be used on a B 2320 the width of the blower is 60" Thanks.

60" is too big for your tractor size.
You would be working it to death in normal snow.

Your tractor is 17HP and they recommend 20+ ;)

You need to drop down in size blower, or up the size of your tractor! :D

In a meteor they make a 51" with a 15HP recommendation.
Other makers and models vary HP requirements for various sizes, so just keep that in mind. ;)

I have had a 54" Meteor on my B7500HST for 10 years. Works great, no problems with it.
The 54" is just about the right size for the B7500 (21 hp). In heavy wet snow you can easily slow it down enough to get through it. With less hp, it might be a bit too big for really heavy snow.

Ended up buying blower from my buddy, it is in really good shape other than gearbox housing is cracked not a big deal. I ordered a new one this morning $350 including shipping I will have $850 in it all together. I have talked with several other people about the size and they said I should be fine with the 60" might have to slow down or take smaller passes I will have to wait and see. Buddy of mine has a Kubota 2760 3pt hitch on his bx 2200 and it handles 95%of the snow we get with ease he sent me pictures last year blowing 6 to 8inces of snow sending it over his garage with a gambrel style roof so we will just have to see how it works out. I should be able to get my money out of it and then some if it doesn't work out. Keep you posted in the months to come.

You want the width to cover your tire tracks, The problem is the snowblower really sucks the horsepower. I have a 24hp L245DT and was told not to try to use a 60 inch single stage. I have two plow trucks with the Boss V blades so I will use the loader and box blade on the tractor. It is hard to take something off your wish list though.

Could not be happier with my 5 ft blower on my B 2320. It is wider than tractor and does a hell of a job. We got 24" to 30" back in Nov. it was pretty heavy snow also it would through it around 30' which I thought was pretty good considering it was almost to the top the blower and taking 3/4 width just have to use your head on the speed. We have been getting pounded all winter with a lot lighter snow usually 6" to 16" storms now that it is colder I am amazed how far this thing throws the snow 50' to 70' with no problem. I am glad I decided to go this route with the 5 ft and not listen to some that said it was gonna be to big for tractor. If you use your head, I think within reason you could use almost any size blower if you get one to big you can slow down and just don't take as big of pass. With my experience I am telling you that a Kubota B 2320 will definitely handle with know problem a 60" rear blower which is 23 hp.

I'm glad it is working for you. I looked at those prior to purchasing my Farm King. I ended up with what I did, because it is local dealer and I know how well the build is base on the one we have at the office. Virtually no/little maintenance and sits outside summer long. Not our firms equipment, belongs to the property Owner who takes care of maintenance.

We have an 850 JD with a 60" Farm King 2 stage blower. It is a gear tractor, but in snow more than 8" it is all the tractor can handle if you want any speed what so ever. The low side of reverse is so slow it almost doesn't move. That speed is too fast for drifts. According to tractor data the JD has about 20 hp at rated PTO speed. Beats my 17.

My bx2350 has the same blower only in a 50" and it does a good job with 16" drifts without having to crawl or stop.
