I looked it up on wikipedia, in Japanese it means sunken rice paddy.
On urban dictionary its described as a miserable place to work.

The logo is missing pieces.

It was also a running joke among myself and my coworkers when I worked at a kubota dealer. Daily having to submit requests for warranty due to being shorted parts in the assembly kits of different equipment. That went on for almost a year until they started to straighten things up.

It’s actually funny that one would care what a company name means.

I mean, what does Ford, Chevrolet, Volkswagen and so on mean? Who even cares? Just names.

A friend of ours family name is Kubota. Doubt she thinks of herself as a sunken rice patty. LOL. Or a tractor either…

Kubota translates to "sunken rice paddy", so the water buffalo logo makes sense, as opposed to a bull.

Not all of them. "Volkswagen" means "car for the people", cars for everybody pretty much.
