Yeah, when i first started fixing small engine equipment (im an auto mechanic but never touched small engine stuff until a few years ago) i was buying chinese carbs, but quickly got irritated enough that I just started going through the originals myself and it's been rare that i can't 'fix what's there'.

I use welding tip cleaners on most of the orifices. My wife one time came up with a pretty good idea when i was trying to fix an accelerator pump passage on a car while we were away from home.. she said cut one of the wires off a wire brush and use that! Well dang.. good idea hun!!

We got the new (longer) pole set on Saturday. 1,200 pounds of concrete according to the "pole setting guy". Once we begin putting everything back together Ill take some photos.

True, but just about 8 cubic feet, which is not really that much when you think about it...

BUT much better than what was shown in the OP's picture!!!
Good point. The weight sounds like a lot, but the volume not so much. I wasn't thinking about that. I sunk my mailbox post with 200 lbs. Lol.

Finally got the gate hung Saturday. Sorry I forgot to take photos of progress. I'm hoping to get the opener done Friday and/or Saturday.

Since the last posting nothing big has really happened. We discovered that the power running to the gate was no longer working--not sure why. So we had to order some new line and wait own that. The line is in so I dug the trench for it on Monday. Hopefully will have everything done by Friday.

Well it was a process BUT we got it done last weekend. Ended up with a new post, new apollo gate opener, new power run to the front gate, new ring door bell and wifi control of the gate.
