I have a M9540 the tach went out , I check all the fuses with a test light and all were good, I checked wiring connector and wiring behind cluster panel and I checked the 1 ground wire as well, could it be a sensor or a broken wire?

The tachometer pickup is mounted to front of engine. Item number 60 in the parts diagram. I would start there.

I replaced the tach sensor on front of engine and had broken red/blk wire and I repaired it and tach is still not working?The tachometer pickup is mounted to front of engine. Item number 60 in the parts diagram. I would start there.

Broken wire is probably not a coincidence. Does tje WSM have pinouts and/or diagnostics for testing sensor and harness wiring?
