my second attempt to post for help, first one disappeared..My m 9000 when put into forward pops out of gear when clutch is let out. If I hold the lever up it stays in gear and after clutch is released i can let go and it stays in gear. Stop and put into reverse with no issues. The lever has a lot of slop, excessive play through the entire range. I have to play hunt and feel where neutral is, reverse is no problem and really have to push the lever up to get into forward. Looking at the lever assembly/column notice shiny metal where the shift lever contacts column, both the knob and the boss on column are very worn and when put in forward the lever does not sit in position. i have been looking for a diagram of the lever assy to see what parts are available or if any may be worn /gone. I also pulled the plates to inspect linkages and there is not much wear on the sleeves. I tried adjusting the linkages fully both ways with no change ie still pops out of forward unless hold lever up. Is this issue due to the lever column being worn out and hopefully able to be corrected by addressing this first or am I looking at worn internal parts? Also need direction to find diagram of shift lever/column and shop manual for adjust inspect procedure. any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum bsamot69!
The filters on the site often kick new members with less than 5 posts to the curb in an attempt to prevent phishing (sp?) It happened to me. I admire your post! It seems you composed and proofed it before sending as the description is clear and concise. You will get plenty of attention if you keep asking. Again welcome. Someone will send you a hyperlink to a exploded diagram so you can see the components. In my experiences thus far I find very little useful R&R, remove and replace help, but as you can see by the number under my profile I have only a few posts myself compared to these dudes/dudettes with like a brazzilian posts. And don't ask how many are in a brazzillion! LOL

Hi - welcome to OTT. The hand lever connects to either a shuttle gear shifter or the optional hydraulic control valve under the seat. Attached are 4 pages from the parts website that show the rods, pivots, bushings etc. for both manual and hydraulic models. The factory parts lists are great for getting to know the machine. Take care, Dick B.

(edited to include manual shuttle)

To give you more accurate answers to your questions, I would need to know what exact model you have. ;)

Hi - welcome to OTT. Likely your M9000 just has a shuttle linkage issue. The hand lever connects to the control valve under the seat. Attached are three pages from the parts website that show the rods, pivots, bushings etc. you can inspect to find the culprit(s). The factory parts lists are great for getting to know your machine. Take care, Dick B.

I’m guessing he doesn’t have a shuttle valve by the way he described the problem. Sounds like a DT model instead of an HD.

Edited post #4 above to include both versions of the lever assembly.
