M9000 Oil Pressure

I have a M9000 with the oil pressure light flickering and shutting off the engine. Other post have had a problem with the cover bolts on the oil pump.
Wanting to drop the oil pan to check but this in a 4WD with the drive shaft runing thru the oil pan. how do I remove the front drive shaft to get the oil pan off?

I suggest before going to trouble to drop oil pan to install a manual oil gauge to determine if there really is an oil pressure/pump problem. It would be very disheartening to drop oil pan and find out it's an electrical problem.

It only has about 6 psi at 1000 rpm. My old rule has been 10 psi per 1000 rpm. Not sure what Kubota says.

Did learn that the oil pump is not in the oil pan but behind the front cover.

Stepped back and thought about it and this all started right after an oil change. After the oil change the light was coming on so I changed the oil and filter again without fixing the problem. Am I correct in thinking the if the first filter was clogged the relief valve would open. When the new filter was installed the relief valve was no longer needed but if somehow remained open. This would cause the problem correct?

Next question is where is the relief valve on the 9000? y the filter or on the front cover by the oil pump?

If your theory is correct about a relief valve stuck open oil light should have been flickering before oil/filter change.

I would suggest that you check the oil pressure sending unit. I have seen more "Low oil pressure " problems fixed with a new sending unit. My $0.02

Well so far checked relief valve and found clean and free.

Oil pickup and pan clean. No sludge or metal filings found. Motor much cleaner than I thought it would be.

Wife is bringing back a new pressure gauge and oil sending unit. Hoping my old gauge is bad. Been in the bottom of the tool box for almost 30 years. Sending unit is less than $20 so I want try everything before going for the oil pump rear cover. Anyone else heard of the oil pump cover coming loose? Going to be a big job if I have to go that far into it.

I hope the oil you are running is a DIESEL rated oil. It should have a "CJ-CI" rating. I would suggest a good, diesel rated, 15/40 oil. Dello 400, Shell Rotella. Both of these oils are available everywhere like Walmart or NAPA.

I'm running Shell Rotella 10w30. Thought I got that out of the manual, i'll check. I wrote everythings oil cap, type, filter, in the back of manual in the truck glove box so I would have it. Maybe I wrote it down wrong. Again only started when I changed the oil last time. thanks.

I see you have a B3200. I love mine. 72" belly mower and a 60" cutter, most used tool on the farm. Also have a 2003 cummings 2500. Like your taste.
