I bought a farm and the M9000 came with it. No manuals.
Tractors starts and runs fine for about 1 hour. The fuel trouble light on dash is usually on. After about an hour power falls off and engine dies or idles poorly in neutral, then may suddenly come back to life for a short while then back to running badly.

I have new fuel filter and cleaned filter in fuel water seperator. Diesel fuel is good.

Dealer suggested to change fuel shut off solenoid and that did'nt help.

One thing that I noticed is the manual fuel pump on the fuel filter does'nt come back up very fast after I depress it.

Please help!

Sounds like there is a lack of fuel, or air in the lines. Bleed out the system and if it happens again, suspect either an air leak or bad pump.

You said the fuel light is usually on. When you go to put fuel in the talk how does the fuel guage act?
Are you able to get the gauge to register full or does it go part of the way up even though the tank seems to be full?
What model is it and does it have a cab?

The primer pump is very slow to come up on these models due to it's design.

I don't know much about fuel injection, other than they need to keep clean. Have you dumped in can of injector cleaner lately? Cheap enough and worth a shot.

The Fuel trouble light stays lit most of the time why it goes on or off is a mystery. The fuel guage seems to work well. Does anyone know what makes the fuel system light come on? (fuel pressure, water, air, etc...) I cleaned all the fuel lines and vent lines and found nothing of any interest. Put it all back together and problem came back a hour later.

My M9000 has no cab

low fuel light source is the fuel sender in the tank.
mine woud die out after an hour or so. did it several times. light work it would run about 2 hours, heavy work (batwing mower) it would run less than an hour. check the output on your lift pump. pull the output line off and put it in a quart jar, have your assistant turn the motor over and watch for bubbles. my wsm is in the barn with the tractor and not in the house so i can't tell you what the volume should be.....anyway i did all the easy stuff twice then changed the lift pump and that fixed it......al
