I currently have a M8560 and a 12 ft rotary mower to mow bull thistle and heavy stuff. Does anyone use a 15ft batwing mower behind an 8560? Just wondering if the 70 hp at the pto would be enough for the bigger mower.

I am running a 15 ft. behind a 64 pto horse power tractor on CRP ground full of the bull thistles. In the worst areas I have to down shift, but only in the worst cases. Only mowing 115 acres. Going from 6ft. to 15ft. mower was welcome. Sprayed for 2200.00 with the local grain elevator and had just as many the next year.

I pull a 15' behind my M9000 (82 pto hp) and it does fine. Only real concern I have is the tractor needs to be heavier on big hills. I have a T180 Bush Whacker and it's heavy.

I'm sure you can, but if I was going to with our M8540 I'd add some wheel weights in addition to our fluid filled tires as our land has quite a few hills.
