M8540 Dash lights

I recently purchased a used M8540 and have noticed the dash lights in the circled area do not work. I believe the 4x4 indicator and the parking brake lights are contained in this area. The lights on the top of the display, the tach, temperature and fuel gauge all are functional. The circled area does not come on when the key is turned on either.
Has anyone experienced this? I have not checked the parking brake and 4x4 switches yet as it seems odd they would all be bad.

I am told the clutch was recently replaced, is there a connector that would carry signal for these lights but not the functional ones?

I removed the cluster and checked the connections, which seem clean and tight.

Thank you. Do you believe the lights normally come on with the key to "test" at start up or are they only on when indicated?
