I have an M8200 that’s has white smoke at idle and heavy black smoke when reving up. I changed the oil and did not have any water in it. When idling it will idle normal for a bit then rev up a little and then back to normal. what are possible causes?

Could you please provide a more detailed history.
Is this tractor new to you of have you had it for a long time?
How many hours on engine?
Did this condition happen suddenly or slowly over time.

Has any work been done on the upper part of the engine where cylinder heat and injectors were touched?
Is your engine turbo charged?
Where do you get your diesel fuel? Big truck stop or small service station?
Check air intake system for rodent nests which will restrict air into the engine.

Sounds to me like you have an injector failing.
Pull them out and have them tested, if one fails rebuild them all.

It has 5300 hrs on it. I bought it 3 years ago from a dealer. I haven’t had to do any repairs yet, not sure the history before I bought it. It is turbocharged, I get diesel from small gas stations. The black smoke has been going on for awhile just when reving up but has recently gotten worse. The white smoke is recent. I have 25 acres mostly use it for hay and brush hogging. Also have a 15’ batwing mower I use occasionally. I was mowing with the batwing when it started acting up. It hasn’t run hot since I’ve had it.

I agree with North Idaho Wolfman's advice to you re injectors.
I would take one step first since you are buying fuel from small gas stations. Drain the tank and refill from fuel from a large truck stop,
