My 8200 loader has give up. 3pt, power steering still work, but the loader only barely lifts.
It is a Great Bend 440 loader. I dont know what controller/joy stick it has.
But the joy stick can be rotated and the bucket will kinda lift.
Have changed filters, hyd fluid, changed several lines, etc with no benefit.
BTW the hyd fluid was milky opaque when I flushed it, but the loader worked well.
What else other than a new controller?

Thanks,
Bill G

Look at the linkages that connect the joystick to the valves to make sure they are actually moving the spool valves correctly.

If the loader run off of the tractor hydraulics?
Some aftermarket loaders are not.

Well, there really aren't any linkages, just hoses and whatever is inside the joystick thing.
I did take off the supply lines and fiddled with the adjusting screw on one side of the valve which made the loader go from kinda working to inert.

"Fiddling" with hydraulic things you dont understand can be dangerous.

Post a couple pictures of the loader valve and we will get you started on some structured diagnostics.

Dan,
Thanks for reply.
I'm unsure how to post pics, but they'll have to wait anyway.
I kinda got the loader doing better, lift arms were working then it blew a hyd hose, and, the controller joystick is stripped out. You may have heard profanity all the way from TN.
Any suggestions for a loader controller?

Yes, me too.
Well these hoses are aged-flaky, crumbly, etc.
When I got the tractor I had to replace the steering controller. The loader always seemed slow compared to my FarmTrac but it has done ok.
The hose that popped went to the Left loader arm after the T and across the center brace but under the metal shield and it had no abrasions, just blew.
The hyd was way over filled when I bought it- lots of h2o.
But after 3 flushes 6 filters I thought most of the crud was out. But if the hoses are flaky on the outside, they are likely shedding on the inside.

I'm gonna cipher on it Fri. figure out pics.
thanks again,
Bill G

Pics are easy if you have a smart phone.

  1. Take your pictures with the phone
  2. Compose your message on the phone
  3. To insert a picture in the message place the cursor where you want the picture to go and hit the IMAGE button (rectangle tool)) on the toolbar

  1. When the dialog box pops up click on it and select the picture you want from the ones on your phone

Ok, here go pics. Hope this doesn't bomb the server.
Question, in the 3rd pic what is the screw adjustment in the lug below joystick?

Try to take one from about where your right knee would be if you were sitting on the seat, looking forward at the valve. Try to be a few feet back to show the valve top to bottom, rear side of the valve.

Ok, here are more pics.
Thanks y'all.
The joy stick is wallowed out. I guess I could jb it, or cross it with another size.
I do have a TIG but my skills are limited. Thats why I was just looking into getting into a new controller. I spent so much time replacing the steering controller..
Got the busted hose replaced and loader lifts, tilt is still hinky.
Thank-you

Easy to say...
You didn’t attach more pictures

and I will change “a few feet back” to “ as close to the three point control lever as possible”.. You might be able to stand next to the tractor and turn the camera “backwards” (like they do for selfies” and see the camera and snap the picture from the screen of the phone.

how about these
Those are much better. Replacing the valve is easy and not pargicularly expensive. But before you do that I think you need to test and adjust it to determine if its actually bad.

What we are missing right now is a picture of where the hoses attach to the tractor. In particular the long one going up over the hood and the one on the other inside of the valve.
