Hi I currently have a m7060 I bought recently and find it a little light to pull loads of hay with. Is the m5 91 much different other then the added HP? Is the transmission stronger even tho it’s still the 12x12? Can the m5 handle more weight vs m7060? There’s over 10k difference in price. Thanks

As in you feel like the tractor is getting pushed along?

Do you have the tractor ballasted? If not, you should be able to add a lot of weight to get rid of that feeling.

I have ballast box on 3pt hitch,
I meant more in the way of transmission being to light to haul hay?
Wondering if the m-5 is built heavier duty or is it the same other then hp?

M5-091 is just a newer model M8560 IMO. I don't think it's going to be as big of difference as you thing. You would need to jump up to a M6 to see a big difference.

The M5 is a full frame size up from the M7060. If you can get the M7060 ballasted heavy enough, I would think that the tranny would be fine, just need to use a lower gear.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

What is the combined weight of the trailer plus the hay that is being hauled?

From Kubota's operating manuals for each of the two tractors...

- M7060 4WD is rated for a combined weight of 11,000 lbs.
- M5-091 4WD is rated for a combined weight of 13,200 lbs.
