M7060-LA1154 Stud broke

I have an M7060 with a LA1154 loader. While connecting my bucket I broke the stud off holding the quick attach latch. Its the pivot point on the latch, it has the spring and two nuts on the stud for adjustment. Question, is this stud removable? I have broke three easyouts, welded washers and nuts to the stud and it will absolutely not come out? I ended up tacking a new bolt to use as a stud (so I can use it), but it hurt my feelings to do so on a two year old tractor. Surely there is a better way.

Thought I would update the answer as I just heard back from dealer mechanic. That stud is indeed formed into the plate and is not replaceable. The whole piece is right at a grand. Careful on letting those latch handles hit anything while they are raised.

I would think the stud can be repaired by welding or drill and tap.

A good welding shop could fix that without much fuss!

If some of the stud is sticking out a bolts could be cut to length required and welded to it. Or drill into the plate and weld to that, but either way take the bucket off and leave it to a weld shop and as mentioned an easy fix.

If you weld it yourself here's a method to get maximum strength when welding a round shaft.

I think you already have your answer. Apparently you have a temporary repair that is functional. Shouldn't be hard to do it permanently if the temporary repair works.

And if the temporary repair doesn't last long, at least you have a good idea that a more proper one will work just fine.

What I would do anyway, especially if a replacement part cost what you stated, for sure.

Thank guys.. yes, the weld is holding. That stud does not have much stress on it.. unless of course you are taking a sip of coffee while pulling up to your bucket with the mounts tilted too far down. I am just surprised it is not already drilled and tapped-that stud should be screwed in so it can be replaced. Kubota has some wonderful engineers and designers.. Mostly.

You could make that happen pretty easily.
