M7060 clutch questions

This friend of mine just informed me he's recently acquired this M7060DT cab/loader tractor from a recently passed away neighbor's estate. Says the tractor has had some neglect over its life and thinks it may need a clutch. The clutch doesn't slip, but engages at the very top of pedal travel and stops moving if pedal is depressed a very short distance. He thinks it has about two inches of free play. Sounds a bit like what might be expected symptoms of a dry clutch with a lot of miles on it. Problem is when I start to look at clutch replacement possibilities it seems the 7060 doesn't have a dry clutch. It's a hydraulic shuttle clutch. The clutch pedal has a cable that connects to a shuttle valve assembly. Assuming something related to that cable could be out of adjustment I started looking through my downloads thinking I might have a WSM on this tractor I find that what I have is only the first section with safety notes, torque specs, and other miscellaneous information totally devoid of any repair procedures.

It appears from parts diagrams the cable (and pedal) operate a spool in what I assume is a shuttle valve assembly. Without a manual I believe that cable adjustment may be part of his problem, but somehow I suspect it's more likely something related to the inching spool the cable controls. Or maybe even deeper?

I haven't seen the tractor yet but I expect said control valve probably has a nice big fuel tank covering it up. Anyone been down that road?

It seems I do have the WSM for the M7040 which appears to have a similar shuttle valve. I think I'll go through that tomorrow and see what I can find out.
