Hello,

This happened to me 2 years ago at 18F. When it warms up tractor works good. Yesterday it took to 36F to be able to steer and move again.

Can anyone recommend a hydraulic oil additive to help prevent water issues?

Thank you

Additive won’t help if it’s getting so much water in it that it will not move.

How did you remedy this last time?
Is it stored outside? Open vent tube catching rain water?
Is the fluid milky?

Check to be sure trans case breather hole isn't clogged.

I've read where trans oil can be drained into a container then very carefully heated to get moisture in oil to evaporate, then reinstall oil.

I realize draining oil in sub freezing temp isn't a very good option!!:(

Sounds like a freeze up problem - ice forming and blocking the hydraulic system. SUDT2 is very good at dealing with water intrusion but no oil can handle excessive amounts.

This am it was colder at 22F and no problems. Moved logs for 2 hours on frozen ground. Unfortunately tractor sits outside and has 1375 hours on it.
Little back breather hose is on top of fill cap on rear of transmission.
Once it got running yesterday I had to work it and glad it ran today.
I'll have to drop the oil soon and check it.
There are 4 drain plugs for the system.
