Hello

Is anyone else having issues with the hydraulics on there M6 111. They will not maintain the position, we have 499 hydroswing haybine that is a night mare to use behind our new kubota. When moving down the road or in the field the hydraulics will not hold in place and the unit will swing out in traffic . We bale with this tractor and are unable to apply the safety locks on the baler as the tractor hydraulics always leak past . The mechanic has been out and shimmied the hydraulic block and has even replaced the block. There does not seem to be a repair for this. I would rather use our 40year old case to cut hay with.
If anyone has found a repair for this issue please let me know.

Let me preface this by saying I am not very familiar with this type of haying equipment. I assume hydroswing refers to some sort of hydraulic positioning system that controls the track of the implement behind the tractor. That said:

It sounds like your implement is not holding the set position behind the tractor. If so is that caused by drift of the steering cylinders and are they controlled by the rear remote valves on the tractor? If so that does not sound like a system pressure issue but rather a remote valve issue.

The hydraulic system on the M6 is not a simple one. It is described as "fixed displacement proportional control load sensing". The rear remote valves are complicated and the techs trouble shooting your problem need a solid understanding of how they work. Have they given you any explanation of what is causing the problem?

Perhaps I don't undersrand what they have done. If they are shimming the main pressure relief it suggests they are in over their heads and do not have the requisite training and/or understanding needed to trouble shoot your problem.

Unfortunately neither do I so all I can really suggest is you need to press Kubota for better qualified service help.

I'm not familiar with the tractor or the implement but i think your problem is on the implement side of the system. The tractor only provides hydraulic flow and pressure to the implement controls. The implement control uses that to control position.

Hillside James, I assume that you are saying in your post that the sideways drift of your 499 is only on the Kubota and not any other tractors. Is that correct?

But if the cylinder simply needs to be set at a position and hold that position, then a double piloted operated check valve (DPOCV) would be the best solution. This needs to be installed between the cylinder ports and the couplers.

The control valves for pretty much every rear remote valve that Kubota sells are suspect. If you have a great dealer, they will try to get the issue taken care of. Kubota corporate doesn't seem to care from what I have seen & heard.

Is there any potential issue with DPOCV and the load sensing control valves? Not an area where I have a solid knowledge base.
