My M6-101 has recently begun to regen every few hours and I'd like to know why. We are in winter and it's been cold and nasty but when we've operated the tractor we make sure RPM's are up to at least 1500 for easier tasks like pulling a fertilizer buggy but between 2200 - 2300 for heavier duty tasks. I can't think of anything that we are doing differently that is causing the regen to cycle more frequently. Although I will say the tractor sits much more this time of year, most of the time in the shop but sometimes we have to set it outside for periods of time, though we don't like to do so.
Am I beginning to see an emerging problem with the DPF filter or some part of that system or is it due to inactivity, weather conditions or something else? The tractor may be operating as designed. I'm just wondering if it's normal for times like these when the tractor sits more or whether I should start saving now for an expensive repair that is in the not too distant future.
Thanks in advance for any insight into what I'm experiencing.
