I recently purchased a well used Kubota M5700 4wd at action. The tractor runs and drives well showing a little over 2700 hours on a non working meter, overall the tractor seems in decent shape. The problem I now see with the machine is that it will pop out of 2nd gear when going up a grade. On flat ground it seems OK but I have not pulled any load with it yet. I was able to speak with an employee who had operated the tractor and he said when they ran it in second gear they would tie back the shifter, he thought Kubota service had mentioned there were known transmission issues with the M5700 model and that there was a factory service bulletin sent out. Evidently the owner never had it resolved and they just operated it with the shift lever tied back. So this leads to my question has anyone else experienced this issue and what is involved in the repair? If there is a service bulletin and it was never acted upon is there any chance I could get any Kubota help? Serial # 54288.

Thanks
Bryon

Not on that tractor but others. Usually 'cause detent not fully engaged. Either because of miss-adjustment or because detent notch not milled in the right place. Sometimes the fork can be moved slightly on the slider rod to get better engagement.

I have the same problem with my M5700. Pops out of second gear when loading. It has 900 hours and has been doing this for about the last 100 hours. I purchase the tractor new and have never received and service bulletins. This tactor has had fairly light and i don't know of any reason for this happening. Works fine when held in gear with slight pressure.
Just talked to 2 different Kubota dealers and both said it was likely a synchronizer problem and would have to split the tractor to access and repair the problem. Likely at least a 20 hour repair plus parts. I plan to take it to the dealer in a few weeks when they can start on it. I will update the results after the job is completed.
