I have 3 hours on my new M5140 tractor and it has a intermittent thumping noise that I think is coming from the hydraulics, I can feel it on the hydraulic cooling lines and it seems to be most noticeable around the dash area. Also when I remove the filler cap for the hydraulic fluid I can see fluid spraying or coming out of something(is that normal). Any ideas or is this all normal?

Well the spraying fluid is normal. That's almost certainly just the return line from the regulator on the pump. Thumping I wouldn't think of as normal. With 3 hours on it call your dealer and get them to send a mechanic out to drive it and see what he thinks.

I am calling the dealer today, I just wanted to run the tractor to make sure it wasn't air or to have the mechanic get here and not have it do it and think I was crying wolf. I am pretty sure its in the hydraulics as it feels like a pulse on the cooling lines when it makes the noise, it seems more frequent after it has run for a while. Besides this issue tractor runs great and is a little power house I just thought buying my first new tractor I wouldn't have any problems for a long while.
