M5-111 on hilly land....

So I'm looking at an M5-111 either the HDC12 or HDC24 for our roughly 125 acres of property.
The property is quite hilly and somewhat steep in some areas. What's the opinion on using an M5-111 to tackle our mowing using a 15' batwing and an 8' mower as well? Will also use it to put in deer food lots and move around some gravel and etc. with its front end loader....

But the primary question is do you think an M5-111 is the "right machine" for hilly land to run a 15' batwing and 8' fixed mower ??

If not why and what's the better option ?

Hi,

All depends, what hilly means for you,
A 1in1 grade sideways is tricky especially with hidden rocks, stumps or the like. Les then that depends...
The italians sell alpine trctors, makes are
Ferrari bcs pasquali and antonio carraro,
Low center of gravity and wide track width, twin tyres help a lot too
If you can go up and down your hill a fwd is helpfull, more so going downhill,

Not interested in switching brands - only opinions on if the M5 is a capable machine for some hilly mowing - versus another Kubota Model..........?

We have very hilly/steep property and while we don't have an M5, we do have an M7040 and M125X. Both are fine but we have added wheel weights and loaded tires.

Then let s just keep things simple:

Twin tyres on the rear help a lot,
The smaller the diameter of the tyres, the better too.

I use my M5-111HDC12 with a RC3615 on some various terrain without problems but like a lot have mentioned everyone's opinions on hills are different. Any pictures to show what type of terrain you will be cutting?

I have an M5-111 HDC24, and have about 240 acres of hilly land (think Mississippi river valley) and have had no problems with it. I use it for mowing all the time.

You have to remember, too, that the majority of tractors aren't designed to be operated on steep slopes. Do they work fine in most scenarios? Definitely, but ultimately you need to be the judge of what is and isn't safe to operate on. There are numerous locations on my property where I wouldn't dare take the M5, just out of fear of rolling. But like I said, that goes for any tractor.

When I was younger I was mowing with an International 584 and a regular brush hog on a rather steep hill. I returned to my grandfather (his farm) and I told him there was no way I was going to mow that steep road that led to a field up on top. He smiled and said "Well, that's why they make a push mower."
