M4900 electrical issues

I have been unable to find the problem with starting my M4900. It will not start with the key, so I have been jumping the solenoid to start it. I have traced out the wiring the best I am able. I have changed out the switch and the start relay. Checked the fuse and the neutral safety switch- all good.Voltage leaving the switch, but not getting to start relay. Any Kubota techs out there able to point me in the right direction. I'd appreciate any help at this point. The only safety switches that I know of on this tractor are the neutral safety and the pto switch.

Have you tried to wiggle the shifter when you tried to crank it? I had problems one time with the safety switch on my L 3000 shifter. It was just a little out of adjustment and it wouldn't crank unless the shifter was held in a certain spot. Just a thought.

Yes, I've even jumped the switch with no luck. Thanks for the recommendation tho!

Looking back on the first post. If the power is leaving the switch but not making it to the relay then trace the wire. If you know for sure it's leaving the switch then you must have a broke wire. Maybe try hooking a new wire from the switch to the relay and see if it cranks.

I don't want to sound like a troll, but I have found tracing electrical issues problems to be a major pain in the but on my kubotas (I have three - but the problems I have had are with the L3010)

I found the service manuals very helpful, but I have the good fortune of understanding electric schematic diagrams.

This is probably a minor issue, even though its a major PITA for you. If you understand schematics or know someone who does, I'd recommend the service manual, or maybe ask your local dealer for a copy of the relevant schematic.

If I had to guess, I'd suspect a defective safety interlock.

I hate to jump a wire around the harness, but I guess that would tell me if it works. I'm also beginning to suspect the PTO safety switch but it seems to be a b*tch to get to. I have the schematic but it leaves a lot to be desired. That is where I determined that there are only 2 safety interlocks. Will let you know if that fixes it. Might not be today tho. This heat is miserable. Might stay inside. Ha!

I have to admit that I haven't gotten around to fixing mine yet. Too many Honey-doos
I'm confused by your statement that the starter (hot) wire is hot until you turn the key. Which wire exactly are you talking about? The only wire that is "Hot" goes from the battery to the solenoid.
Maybe we can work this out together since we both have M4900.

Where exactly is the solenoid at? I thought the wire that supplies the starter with electricity comes straight from the battery..? The starter wire I'm talking about is the only one that's held on by a nut...it has a black rubber boot to cover it

Id Had the same exact issue as you M4900 and it will be the 75 amp fuse ( mine is located beside the battery up front) hope this helps
