My local dealer just received their first M4. It's a 12 speed Deluxe model with cab.

It appears that Kubota has responded to customer complaints about the pizza cutter front tires supplied with the 7060 model. This M4 has metric tires with two piece, adjustable front rims, unlike the one piece front rims supplied with metric (non pizza cutter) front tires on 7060 models.

I also noticed that this M4 does not have the mechanical screw/cable rear fender mounted lift tweaker control that I saw on the M4 that was on display at the February Louisville show. Optional?

From the M4 brochure it is optional: External 3P Controller
An optional 3-point hitch controller saves time and improves productivity by allowing the operator to raise and lower the 3-point hitch from the rear of the tractor. You no longer need to return to the cab or ask someone for help to raise or lower the hitch.

Wish my M9's had that. Not too bad with the open station but a PITA with the cab tractor.

It's kind of a Rube Goldberg, much unlike the electric/hydraulic controllers available from some other manufacturers.

Just a cable attached to the position control lever. The control is simply a knob that actuates the cable in order to move the position control lever.

Interesting. I may have to trundle over to my dealer and check out a current M series WSM and see if I can get the parts without busting my wallet too bad. I can do a 'Rube deal' on the M9 cab unit. Anything would be better than having the wife on the cab and me fiddling with an implement. Really a 'smash your fingers' exercise with 2 people.

In the past when alone, I open the back window and get up on the drawbar to reach the lever. Not very safe but necessary.

I wonder if that is what the other fender bracket is for on my M9 cab tractor. It came with an unused bracket on the right side, The left side bracket has the SMV triangle on it.

You have gotten my curiosity engaged.

One bad thing about the M9 cab tractors is the height. Every time I get up on the drawbar to get to the lever, I think what if I slipped... Not an issue with the open station, lever is easy to access.

The M4 that I saw in Louisville had the lift "tweaker" on the left fender.

Interesting, I will check it out. I can move the SMV to the opposite side easily. Looking at the specs, it's would be a marginal tractor for what I do. Not enough PTO power to run my big round baler and run 4 x 6 bales. I need a minimum of 70 pto.

I bet that is what those brackets are for however.
