Good afternoon, I have a M4-71 that has two rear remotes. I was hooking up an offset this morning and ran into an issue. I could not get the upper left remote to accept the coupler from the house. Upper right had no issue.

I was in a hurry, so I just used the lower set of remotes with no issues.

I've never had an issue with either set of remotes.

I resisted the urge to take a flat head screw driver and a hammer to the 'jammed' remote.

Any thoughts?

A note, I recently used a shredder that only uses one remote, I ran it off the right upper remote, opposite of the one I'm having the issue with.

Thanks, dl

I would suggest that you shut the tractor down and move the lever the controls that valve back-and-forth several times. With the tractor still turned off try to hook up your hydraulic and see if it won’t attach now.

You do not want to stick a screwdriver into the hydraulic coupling. It’s too easy to damage the little ball, the plunger or the rubber gaskets that are involved.

Aren't those supposed to be connect under pressure?

If you used a set on a single acting cylinder you deadheaded the pump into the unused coupler. That coupler valve is probably holding full system pressure right now.
