Good evening,

I have a question about how durable the wet brakes are on our brand new LX3310. I accidentally forgot the park brake set for roughly 20 minutes of slow speed snow blowing tonight. How bad does anyone suppose I f'ed something up? It didn't hardly struggle at all.

Yes, I do all the time also, wish they put on some type of audible alarm, hope there not too expensive or difficult to replace. And yes, it dosent slow my tractor down ether.

You should be fine, they normally outlive the life of the tractor.
I just wouldn't recommend doing it again.

Been there, done that... most of us have at one time or another. If you didn't have them set hard, I doubt you wore anything down. If the brakes are like mine, you can push the brake harder before you set it. I normally push the brakes with one foot and lock them in with the other foot. I hate bending over to set the brakes and I think you'll set them on the light side when you bend over to use your hand...

Add me to the list of people that have done it. Seems it is an on going subject. One of the first modifications I made was to add an audible alarm. Easy to do, as there was already a switch for the brake engagement under the cowling. Here is a thread about it from 2019. Your lx3310 may have the switch already.

Even though the alarm is loud enough, there was one occasion where I was driving the tractor for several minutes with the alarm sounding before I asked myself why is there this loud buzzer ringing in my ears? It finally dawned on me that the brakes were set. Can’t fix stupid 😱

Thanks everyone! I'm for sure going to add a small piezo buzzer.

I've done this a lot, my B2650 doesn't slow much and I wear hearing protection good enough to shroud the louder hst whine the braking causes. Almost always in low range and moderate to top operating rpm.
So far I've only tightened the brake pedals once on my 1100 hour 5 year old unit, as noted in free play specs in the manual, and haven't seen any further free play travel or operational issues because of my regular abuse of those wet discs.
Part of the struggle is that I habitually set the brakes when I dismount, so the machine can't creep, or the hst pedal accidentally gets nudged and sends the tractor on its way uncontrolled.
I've just got to ALWAYS remember to give the park brake pedal a punch when I remount to disengage it.
I just need a visible reminder.
Amongst all the other little pressing projects, this one will be fairly easy to correct by installing a dash lamp glaring at me whenever the park brake is set.
I already have a small red 12v indicator lamp kicking around in "the piles" in the garage somewhere.
Now if it would stop snowing for a while...

Here is a link to an old Video of installing a Park Brake Warning Light.

There should be a warning light on the dash when parking break is engaged.

I have forgotten my parking brake many times over 20 years on my B2910. Too many to count so I don't. Brakes are still going strong.

Like someone mentioned above, I try to remember to punch the brake pedal to release the brake just in case, but we all know how that goes...

Yeah, mine has the idiot light but I wasn't paying much attention to the dash as I was more concerned with staying on the road.
This makes me think I'll need more than just a little red indicator for an idiot light.

Maybe a flashing yellow LED bulb or something that would be way more noticeable.

I've done it too. If you are worried about it, I'd check the adjustment to see if you are still in specs. Other than using the parking brake, my brakes aren't usually used. I find the hydrostatic has plenty of drag in 4 wheel drive.

I seldom use the parking brake,so never check it when getting in.
I place the range lever in Neutral when I set the brake.
When I try to move,I remember the brake is set!
Crude but effective,at least for me.
