Thinking about buying a used 2020 or 2022 lx3310 with cabs. I plan on mowing with belly mower. Both have low hours. I’ve read a lot on here over the last few days. What do you all think of them? I’m a bit worried over the dpf. Maybe I shouldn’t be as I have no problem running the rpms up. Any info would be appreciated.

I don't know anything "specific" about them being bad, but if you need something over 25hp you may as well "snuggle up' to the DPF and regen idea.

Since you don't really have a choice, and "most" people here don't have problems, I would say go for it.

I am sure a "Guru" will be along shortly to correct me if I am wrong though.

I've had a 2020 for four years now, so far so good. the issue with the DPF is that if you're mowing or running the machine with the engine i believe over 1800 RPM and it wants to RE-GEN the light will come on it'll do it's RE-GEN and outside of a funky smell from the exhaust and the light on the dash you're really won't know that it's doing it. On the other hand in the late winter early spring when I'm doing yard cleanup moving branches and firewood and things like that where I'm running the engine at a low speed it becomes a bit of an inconvenience if it wants to do a REGEN you would either have to stop and let it do a park regen which takes about 15 or 20 minutes or just work the tractor at a high enough RPM where it'll do it on its own. I have been in one situation where the machine was in limp mode because I postponed the REGEN too many times then I was forced to do a park REGEN. other than that it's a great machine could not be happier probably am going to look at a lx 4020 soon

I've had my 3310 for two years and the dpf and regen haven't been an issue. I just keep working and after roughly 10 minutes it's finished. Doing work under 2000 rpms I can get 15-20 hours between regens. In the summer I mow 12 acres 1-2 times a week and can easily double or triple the regen frequency.

Buy a LX2610 or LX2620 with cab, if the extra issues with regen are a concern. The HP difference isn't that much.

Although most folks don't have issues with Kubota tractors over 25 or 26 HP with the diesel - save the world mods.

Big difference in pto hp, 27.7% more. I had a LX2610 and found it underpowered with a 60" mid mount mower in long grass. The LX3310 will run my 84" rear finish mower in the same conditions with ease. Even loader work the 3310 has more power pushing into a pile of dirt or gravel.

Congratulations BKS!! I own a B3350 (predecessor to LX3310). I had DPF problems that resulted in a major DPF replacement/repair and it's been fine ever since. You do NOT want to be operating your new machine at lower RPM's. After the replacement, I go by the following steps:

1. Use glow plugs ~25 seconds before first start of the day
2. Warm up 1-2 minutes @ 1,500 RPM
3. Operate at 2,500 RPM – do not idle at lower speed.
4. When done for the day if worked hard, cool down at ~1,000 RPM for 1-2 minutes.

Thanks! I think I’ll love it. I hated the thought of dpf, but I just didn’t think the lx2610 would have enough power to do the job for me.

I know I am late to the thread here but my 3310 has been great as long as you can deal with the whine. I deal with it with Pandora and my Isotunes. 27 pto hp is awesome!

Last year I was looking at a 2610 and a 3310. The sales guy talked me into the 2610. 1k less for the little bit less hp, and no def. I grew up with full size farm tractors so a big comparison to the 2610 from what I grew up running but not once have I thought " I wish I got the 3310.

Agreed.

Enormous increase in PTO HP for a tractor of such size. Over 30%, IIRC.

I chose the 3310 over a 2610 (purchased new in 2022) because I live at 7000' elevation and the turbo is critical to maintain actual power close to the rated power.

Similar to retiree, I just always run it above 2200rpm and regens stay infrequent. And almost always wear ear pro because even without a cab it's just a bit loud.
