I initially eyed the B2601, but the LX2610SU doesn't cost much more. I only plan to use the front end loader, backhoe, and box blade. I sat on both machines, and the B2601 was way more comfortable. The LX2610SU was just okay, and I thought it felt more cramped. I am 5'10", 260 lbs. Now had I not compared it to the B2601, then I might not have thought it to be cramped. For all of you LX2610SU owners, do you have any regrets about getting the SU? Any problems with comfort? Is a little extra power of the LX2610SU, worth giving up the comfort seat, tilt steering wheel, and a extra leg room that the B2601 has?

No regrets with the LX SU. I found the LX to be more comfortable than the B2601 and L2501, but that is all personal preference. I do like and have on many occasions used the extra stability/ground clearance/traction the LX SU provides with its bigger tires. A couple of weeks ago, I dug up about 10 tons of gravel and sand from a creek bed/bank for my BIL. The big tires and a little more ground clearance really helped as I kept digging down into the wet loose material.

Buy what fits you / what you like - they will do similar work.

The LX-SU with the big tires looks pretty good. I know, not a real reason for buying a tractor, but it's a nice looking machine. Only if you don't need the mid-mount deck though.

The LX is quite a bit more capable - about 15% all round if I recall correctly. I believe the backhoe is quite a bit more capable - I seem to recall the B has limitations on swing angle. If you're serious about the backhoe the LX I think is worth it. For loader work both will pick up a bucket of whatever you want (the LX bucket is a little bigger), and probably both will take the same number of passes with a back blade to do the same work.

If the dealer has a LX2610 and a LX2610SU try sitting on both and the B2601 so you can compare the differences. The SU has some compromises to save money which many are fine with but others don’t like. Do you due diligence before buying so that you are happy in the long run.

I thought that the LX was the replacement for the B2650, isn't it larger than the B2601? I purchased the LX2610 open station, I ordered it with the larger tires as an option and I'm glad I did.

Box blade is not an issue. I have leveled 3 spots (30x30, 15x30 and 12x12) with each having a 1.5 foot slope in hard clay filled with rocks using my FEL and Box Blade. Also, I have spread over 100 tons of crusher with my box blade.

No experience with chains.

I have an LX2610suhsd with the big tires. I'm 5'9" and have no issues with space or comfort. I could care less about a tilt steering wheel. It's a tractor. No issue with box scraper. Per owners manual the big tires need spacers to run chains.
