LX2610 sitting for 2 years

Because of health issues, my Dad's LX2610 has been sitting for almost two years. It has been kept in a garage with a temp that ranges from 55-75 degrees depending on the time of year. I need to use the tractor to try and tackle some of the long overdue property maintenance so I looked it over today. Everything was looking fine until I checked the fuel tank. I shined a flashlight into the tank and the diesel appeared to be cloudy and green. I went ahead and pumped out some of the diesel to check it and it looked normal. There was what I guess I could call a slight green tint at the edges when I hold a flashlight at different angles but I'm not sure if that is being caused by the light/jar. I let the jar sit for an hour and I didn't see any water separation or anything floating or sitting on the bottom. I also don't see any water in the fuel separator.

I am going to go ahead and proactively pump out the remaining diesel from the tank. Is there anything else that I should do with regards to the fuel or any other items that should be checked after sitting so long (other than checking the fluids)? The 50 hour service was performed right before it was parked.

I would pump all the diesel out and discard, service the integrated fuel filter and water separator, add new fuel and treat with biocide and cetane booster start her up and hope for the best.
If problems exist after that well you are in for a bigger job.

Green tinted diesel is 100% normal.
Diesel does not degrade like gasoline.
You could just fire it up and send it.
If there is any water in the system it will end up in the fuel separator and you can dump that off.

The diesel is probably fine. Check all fluid levels and inspect the battery cable connections for corrosion especially if it sat without a charger in it.

You mentioned it was parked in a garage but I would make sure there are no rodent nests in the air cleaner assembly or around the exhaust manifold that could catch fire.

Like @North Idaho Wolfman says, green is good.

Just an FYI, “red" would also be appropriate if he used “Off Road” (i.e. non road tax) diesel.

I would probably fill it with fresh stuff and fire it up.

2 years in controlled conditions, you should be good to go.

I appreciate the advice. I will probably still add a biocide just to be proactive. Any recommendations on brand/type?

Put the battery on a charger to get it to full charge status.
