LX2610 Bucket Size, Too Large

Hey all,

I recently picked up a LX2610 and was getting ready to order a Piranha bar when I realized it looks like I have a 66" bucket not the 60" that I ordered, being my measurements for the bar order were ~64.25". Is that too large of a bucket for the 2610? Seems like the obvious answer would be yes if Kubota didn't offer it (54" and 60") but I don't plan on overloading it regardless the bucket size.

The part number on my bucket is L2256. The only thing I can think of is the tractor did have a previous buyer but that fell through and maybe they custom ordered it or the dealer just messed up.

My 2610 came with a 54” bucket. In my opinion, it’s too small. I’ve been looking for a 66, I would even settle for a 60.

hmm, wonder if your tractor can lift that 66" bucket full of gravel ?? If I assume a 26hp tractor kinda B2601 sized ? I think 66" is too wide, too big and NOT what YOU ordered. Bigger is NOT always better. If you're moving a lot of lightweight mulch around, it'd be OK BUT have to think about stability, getting into tight spots, weight on tires, loss of payload, etc.
If you're not happy now, you really won't be in 3 weeks, 3 months or 3 years from now.

My LX 2610 SU came with a 54 inch bucket, and I believe that is the default size. In my experience, the 54 is well suited to the LX. It allows for some light digging, especially with a tooth bar (Piranha in my case). I have moved and spread over 70 tons of gravel. A struck 54 inch bucket full of crusher gravel weighs about 700 lbs.; even a heaping bucket of gravel is well within the capabilities at carry height.

Of course, it all depends upon your uses.

The 2 bucket sizes for the LX2610 is a 54 inch bucket and a light duty 60 inch bucket. I thought I ordered the 60 inch bucket when I ordered the tractor but am very happy with the abusive that the 54 inch bucket has endured(not sure the light duty bucket would have endured the abuse). With a heaping scoop of wet gravel the tractor barely has enough power to lift it. I also have the piranha bar installed, like that it can be taken off with only two bolts(has never been off since installation). Thanks everyone, I'll reach out to the dealer, but I'd bet since I've had the tractor a few months at this point they may not want to do anything about it. I honestly never thought to make sure it was the 60".

My main uses are for mulch, some dirt, and snow. Maybe gravel on occasion but nothing regular. I doubt I'll max it out but it has seemed a bit wide when I have been in the woods which made me question it a bit.

A bigger bucket is good for snow, mulch, soil etc. I’ve never come close to maxing out my 54” bucket. And I’ve spread truckloads of gravel.

When digging, smaller will giver you more power to dig. But when moving fairly lose soil, I want to make less trips so a bigger bucket would be desirable.

Moving woodchips, mulch, compost, etc. I want a bigger bucket

And I have spacers on my rear axle. The 54” isn’t wide enough for the tractor. I get tire tracks in my trail behind me

i have a 60"bucket on my LX2610 and haven't had any issues with it lifting a full bucket of soil or gravel. I definitely appreciate the loaded tires and a rear implement when doing that type of work though.

I have the big tire option on mine and the 60” is about the same width as the tractor. I’m not sure 3” on either side would bother me. If it bothers you maybe someone local would trade.

If it's an SSQA bucket, well 2 buckets are better than one.
One smaller for dirt work with a tooth bar and larger smooth for mulch and snow work.

Thanks guys, I'll give the dealer a call and see what they say. Being I don't have plans to move anything heavy on the regular it'll probably be okay.

I have a 72" light material bucket for snow/mulch and the 54" stock bucket with tooth-bar for heavy duty use. I'd recommend keeping the 66" as is and get a 54' with tooth-bar so you'd have the best of both world.

Another happy 60” scoop user, but on my B2650 (same as your 2610). I move tons of gravel without any issue. I also have loaded tires and have a rear implement on 99% of the time.

Thanks for all the feedback, the dealer said they have a 60" in stock so we can just swap. I like the idea of having a light duty one and a smaller heavy duty but can't justify the expense on a second bucket for the amount of use I'd get out of it.

Now the benefit this provides is a wide bucket and works great for grading and having a large bucket for throwing debris into while I work the ranch is great. It is super-tough; as the dealer added a straight blade attachment. works great at moving clean dirt. Caveat is that you can overload it and tip the front and have the backend bounce up/down. ( I plan to add a ballast in the rear or fill the tires. The LX is a strong tractor but it needs ballast.
Caveat, if you have really rocky hard ground, having teeth will be suggested and if not, then the long straight blade will make it impossible to excavate dirt.
I wouldn't worry unless a different type of bucket is needed for your needs. You'll love the bucket.
