I have a 25 year old L2250 that has always run well with very little problems. a week or so ago I ran it out of gas and now it will not run without losing RPM's after a minute or so or under load. I have changed the gas filter, bled the gas filter chamber, changed gas and added treatment, and bled the injectors twice. I continue to have the problem. Any ideas???

I hope you did not put gas in your diesel tractor and expect it to run.

Do these pumps have an air bleed on the side or top of the pump?
Some fuel filter housings also have an air bleed screw on top of the housing.
After bleeding and if no result, next I'd start with disconnecting fuel line from inlet to filter and run into bucket for a few minutes to ensure you have a good strong flow, remove and recheck fuel filter housing seal to ensure no air leaks, and if possible remove and clean tank and back blow or replace fuel line.

Jeff,

try not to refer to FUEL as gas, we know what you mean - but PEOPLE have done just that - gas in a diesel! .......YOU did replace fuel with diesel? - gonna say to you did - so bleed the line(s) longer - injectors too.

There's a bleeder valve at the injection pump I believe. It's been about 18 years since I've changed a fuel filter on dads. Upon restarting it after changing the filters, the manual stated to open the bleeder and crank it till it starts. Then let it run for a couple minutes before closing the valve.

It sounds like there is air in the system somewhere. Either bleeder valve still open, or filter not sealing correctly.

If you did put gasoline in it, drain and flush everything with fresh diesel.

If you didn't put gasoline in it, then it sounds like you have sucked in some junk into the fuel line, it usually gets stuck in the intake of the fuel filter canister or at the bottom of the tank. ;)

I have tried repeatedly to bleed DEISEL through the injectors. The tractor runs great for about a minute at elevated RPM's and then sputters and runs poorly at low RPM's.

Is there a fuel pump on this tractor that could be bad???

Anybody know what the 3" round device is that in the DIESEL line between the filter and the injectors? It has an fuel inlet on the bottom left and an outlet on the top left that goes to the air bleed before the injectors (can't seem to insert a picture here.

If I pull the gas line at the bottom left, I get gravity DIESEL feed from the fuel filter. If I re-connect and remove the hose from upper left which goes up to the injectors, I get no flow.???

Your really going to have to upload a picture, use the paperclip on the top to do it.
If you did quick post you will need to go advanced.

Sounds like someone has added a water separator or another filter. ;)

Looked at the parts breakdown on the kubota website. Saw a couple pictures of it. One on the fuel system with the fuel lines attaching. And another of it with the injection pump. Best educated guess is that is a fuel pump. Didn't find the drawing that actually had it listed with a part number and description
