Lose bolts The bolts

I own a BX 23S 2 years old. I’ve had the bolts replaced the six around the back plate on the PTO now yesterday I’ve noticed the new bolts are all loose. I put lock tight on them and tighten them back up. Everything is level as I’m running it, I use a Tiller and a brush hog. Does anyone else have any idea ideas why these bolts keep coming loose

Because lock tite does not work unless it is used on two fairly clean surfaces and you have no other locking arrangement on the bolts? Did you use bolts with some type of lock washer underneath the head?

If so, you may need to use a better locking method and see if that helps. I would suggest using a lock plate under each bolt or set of bolts since that is the best positive locking method. See this link

You could use longer studs and put a nut with another lock nut on top.

Thank you for the information. No, there was not lock washes on them. I will buy six of them and try that I have not seen any leaks since last night. I tightened them. I had a new piece of cardboard under there and cleaned everything up. Doesn’t mean they’re not gonna come loose again though.

The bolts were replaced because they got loose ( the dealer said it was because I didn’t have the tiller level and the vibration made the fall out ) so they put a new plate at he pto and bolts were replaced. So I cleaned the new ones and put lock tight and it seems to stop leaking. But I don’t want it to happen anymore

So let me see.if I have this right.

1. The original bolts loosened and flange leakef
2. Dealer instslled new flange with new bolts that did the same
3. You cleaned the new bolts and installef with thread locker and no problem to date.

Seems to me you just need to wait and see.

there has been no problems. I just tightened them last night still in the garage. It’s not leaking like it was actually it’s not leaking at all. I just don’t know why they keep losing. Not sure what to do.

You put thread locker on it and tightened them after it had cured? That defeats the purpose.

If the bolts are loosening then the Loctite isn't working.
Some Loctite products will work even if the parts are oily.
You could also use higher strength Loctite but be careful because some products are REALLY strong and you may want to remove those bolts someday.

sorry I must’ve read that wrong or did that wrong when I answered back no I brought into my garage power wash the whole tractor. Took each bowl out cleaned it put black thread on put a clean piece of cardboard under. It has not dripped yet. Have not used Tractor since.

Black thread what? Loctite thread locker is red, blue, or green.

In any event I still suggest wait and see.
