Looking for wrench set recommendations.

I'm looking for a set of metric wrenches that are sort of a cross between the regular box end and open end wrenches. They're like a box end with a chunk cut out so you can slip the end over the threaded portion of a bolt or rod and move the wrench end over a nut to turn it. No idea if they have a special name for these.

I think what you are looking for are called flare nut wrenches used on fuel lines, brake lines, etc.

You may buy the wrenches as a flare nut wrench. They can also be had in socket form as a crow foot wrench. Of course they're available in either metric or SAE.

Thanks guys! MAC would be really nice but Harbor Freight would fit my budget better. Maybe I can make up some stickers with MAC written on them and then dream.

I have Mac's I bought in 1975 awesome tools great fit and there is not a bar long enough to break them. they are mechanic jewellery and I will walk 15 ft past the craftsman wrenchs to use the Mac's

My several toolboxes are a potpourri of tool mfr’s… started out in the late 60s with Western Auto, … then a mix of Sears Craftsman and Montgomery Ward “Powr-Kraft”,…. then (after hired at Toyota) bought Snap-On and Mac and Cornwell and even a Matco or two… with Chicago-Pneumatic, Proto, Thor, …then inherited my Father’s Crescents, Channel-Locks, Stanleys, and Cincinnati…

Now I’ve fully bastardized my toolboxes with all the HF store-brands. But I still say an out-loud “Thank you, Dad” when I‘m deep into some project…need a special tool….then remember I have exactly what I need over in my Dad’s collection I inherited.
