So I was filling my front tires with "Elephant Snot" (that Kubota tire sealant) today and I noticed that I am missing a dust cap on one of the fittings.

Upon further inspection it appears that the whole lot of them are cracking and appear to be "dry rotted"

Is this normal for a 1.5 year old tractor that is garage kept?

I mean, it's not the end of the world, just wondering if this is normal.

I found some at the Big A (of course) but they "look cheap".

If there are other places that sell higher quality ones, I'm all ears.

Also what size am I looking for? Big A's listing has this huge description that I can't make "Heads nor Tails" out of.

Hydraulic Quick Change Coupling Dust Cap & Plug Bush Hog Westendorf Ford Loader Pioneer Faster 1/2" ISO S40-4 S71-4#8 AGRI NV12 2NV12 TF12 7241-A HNV12NPTF HNV12NPTM 4050-4

Here are some pics for reference.

The description is a list of brand name and product numbers. You want 1/2" body size ISO 5675 dust plugs. Buy cheap and buy often.

Mine are fine, and I think mine are older. Maybe your parts are in the sun more, you wash yours more, or maybe just the age difference meant mine were a different run of them. Fwiw, my L2501 HST is a 2021 model. I don’t know when it was made or how long it sat on the lot.

Hi RWS

From the pictures those appear to be on pioneer type quick connect couplings.

After I ordered a set from the big K dealer, a few days later I was at Tractor supply and noticed they had what I had purchased from Kubota.

If you have a tractor supply near by they may have them and in different colors also.

The orange and blue ones look fine. If they are all the same age and exposed to the same elements maybe the green ones are from a different mfg??? Or older than the others???

Pioneer types had more of a selection and colors available. With these FF fittings, not so much. I finally settled on all red and then I buy 3x Heatshrink in the colors needed for hose ID. Colored plastic snap-rings work (but I haven't done yet) for the hard lines under the tractor.

Electrical tape is cheap, easy to apply, durable, and a breeze to change.

If you are a brave man your wife/girlfriends nail polish drawer offers a much larger color palette....
