I own an L4600 but, I find it to be too big and tall for a lot of my mowing needs. I have used a BX23xx with a 54" deck and find it to be too small.

The BX has too little ground clearance and the tires are too small a diameter. On slopes, I kept sliding around on the seat. The tires were R1's so plenty of traction but, little washouts hidden in the grass bottomed out the tractor to the frame. :(

I am looking at the B-series mainly but, I wonder about an L2501DT. No one around me has these in stock so, in person size comparisons are not possible. Spec-wise, width and length are similar. How about wheelbase and turning radius without brakes? Hood height and sightlines are important too!

What are the Pro's and Con's of the various B's and the baby L for me? I live on 40 acres of hilly sandy 'pasture' with a farmhouse, barns, corrals, etc. with plenty of trees.

TIA,
Sid

I got an L2501 primarily for mowing duty. It effortlessly pulls a five foot King Kutter rotary mower up and down the hills on my ten acres. I have no trees but do mow around the sagebrush. I did look at the L3301 but only until I learned it had a dpf. I'll avoid emissions as long as I can. I wasn't sure the B or BX tractors could handle my mower and the price for the tractor was about the same. Weight is a factor for three point implements.

Kubota L2501 would fit the bill. The concerns over DPF are not realistic fears enough to avoid betting more power if you need it
I'm not paranoid about DPF, just cautious. As a former owner of Diesel-gate VW Passat and near-miss purchase of a B3350, I'm avoiding emissions issues if I can.

In terms of more power, I do have the L4600 and will likely upgrade it to a MF4707.

You asked about wheelbase and turn radius. I don't know about the 2301.
Between the B2650 and the L2501, the B has a longer wheelbase and a tighter turning radius as well as higher ground clearance.

If you want a mmm, the B. Rear mower, either. If you need weight for 3 pt ground engagement, the L.

The little L and larger B may be too big for your mowing needs. Since you already have a larger tractor, I***8217;d go with a small B personally. Are you certain the BX is too small?

Is mowing your only intended use? No front end loader (FEL.) You never mentioned a mid mount mower (MMM) or tear mount. All of the above can run a MMM aside from the L since it doesn***8217;t have a mid PTO. They can all run rear mounts obviously.

with that much ground I would go with an "L" I had been looking hard for an L3200 or L3800 ended up buying a neighbors L3400 it was too big for his needs, he wanted my BX2200 for his yard and nursery but I had to keep it for yard work and use the 3400 for general purpose for a property we just bought, (future homestead) looked and considered the 2501 and if I were going new it would be the 2650 or a 2501

since you already have the BX I would go with an L and if (like me) you want to avoid the DPF the 2501 or buy a used L pre-emission stuff and while the/my concerns may be grossly exaggerated about the emission stuff I still subscribe to the "KISS" rule;)

think you loose about 400-500# between the B & L too

and I can relate on the small tires on the BX, mine feels like running over a washboard, I did pretty much the same as you, I had the L 5030 and the BX wanted something in-between and the L 3400 seems to fit the bill perfectly
