Hi guys, first post for me around here so go easy on me ;)

I finally decided its time to get a tractor and give my back some rest. I never owned one but rented one a few times.

I have about 1 mile of gravel road to take care off with one major hill that mother nature likes to errode during heavy rain. I have acces to a pit of gravel midway. Right now im shoveling it into a lawn trailer and last time the rain damaged it hard I told myself it was enough. That road need to be cleared of snow in the winter also.I need to maintain each side of the road with a brush cutter every other year. I could use a bush hog but I rather dig all the bushes out and transform it to mowable land. The front of the house is very sloped and its also full of crap I need to cut every year or it grows too tal and block the nice view. Since its too steep for a tractor I want to use the backhoe to reach as far as possible and dig out the roots so thats less land to maintain. There are a few stumps I want to dig out and various landscaping to do. I also cut fire wood so a thumb on the backoe is welcome to load the trailer.

Thats the work that need to be done and I am sure I will find more..

My plan is to buy a TLB with a snow blower.

I think the BX is too small for the job at hand.

This is where I need some help I could go with a B serie with a backoe plus loader. I could go for a L serie with backoe plus loader or I can go for a already configured TLB setup like a B26 or L39.

How do they compare to each other.

If you are trying to reach over a bank, or load logs, I would say bigger is better. After using a hyd thumb on a excavator, they are sweet. But, after cleaning a ditch with a fairly large backhoe into a tall dump trailer, I would lean toward forks, or better yet a set of grapples to lift the logs on a trailer.
I guess that's my 2 cents.

B26 is a solid machine, just keep in mind it doesn't have a mid mount PTO. That means no belly mower, no front mount snowblower. Otherwise, its a more purpose built machine than a regular B tractor with a backhoe added on...and is built for more "commercial/rental" use. Keep in mind you can lift about 800-1000lbs more with an L48 but the cost and size are considerably more as well.
