I’m looking at a Kabota L3710 GST with a backhoe on auction. Tractor runs good, but I’ve never been around a GST tractor before. I drove it around and when shifting to a higher hear it would pause momentarily then start moving. Is this normal? Tractor has 1450 hours on it.
Thanks,
Bob

Yes quite normal for a hesitation between gear shifts.
There is some adjustments to make the delay smaller if it's drastic.

Not drastic. I’ve never been around them just didn’t know what to expect. Thanks for the info.

A normal but annoying trait of the GST. The area where this can be problematic is if you're hauling something uphill and accidentally shift. The tractor will come to a dead stop while it tries to synchronize and the load you're hauling can shift or spill. So it's best to preselect a gear and stay in it when traveling uphill. This effect is not as pronounced when shifting on a level grade. Shifting while traveling downhill is very smooth and the shifts are quite quick. Downshifting down grades can also make for some tractor jerking.
