That's why I got Bro Tek, I got the full set, but only use the back one. I also got the front boot protectors, but you can make your own if you have a shop.

Thanks for your suggestions! This Bro Tek pic scared me about what is hanging low!

I crawled under my machine yesterday - looks like it has some sort of a factory skid plate, may save the fan but still leaves most of the trans axle, PTO, and oil filter exposed...

Thanks for the info - I don't plan on having the MMM on while clearing and building a berm for my shooting lane. Lots of rocks and brush on the ground. I like the Bro-Tek because it looks like I don't hve to take it off to use my mower
I had a set of bro-tek's on my old bx23. They work great. However, the rear plate/access does make it a bit difficult to connect the mid pto for the mower. You'll have to find a way to get your hand around the side of the skid plate to pull the collar on the pro shaft. It can be a bit frustrating. I'd suggest that you index (mark) the pto shaft either with a center punch or grease pencil to identify the slot.

Also, you'll likely find that you will not be able to raise your mower deck to full height with the main skid plate on as the mower deck gear box will contact the skid plate.

Maxx, that's the one I used from bxpanded. Very easy to put on and take off
I use this one too. Once you do the initial install, you can literally take it off and put it on in 30 seconds. I have heard more than a few branches ping off it when I am in the woods. Definitely something you want to get for your tractor.

The newer OEM protector is better than the old one, but it still leaves the fan vulnerable. Yes, it makes connecting the MMM shaft a bit harder, but no where near replacing a fan. On the BX2200, it's not a real big deal, but on later models it's a bear.

Great input! I was going to pull the trigger on the Bro-Tek, but for now I think I'll fabricate a shield for the filters off the factory skid (since it already covers the fan which was my biggest concern)

Maxx , trust me the factory plate will not protect the fan. Speaking from experience but if you plan on adding to the factory skid plate that might help?
