Today I finally got the tongs into the De-Rust Tank.
I used 4 Tablespoons (I just started pouring it in. Probably a 1/2 cup) of Arm & Hammer Super Laundry Soda, then put the double paddle wheel in the drill and mixed it real good.

I used two 1/2"thick×4"×4" chunks of clean metal as the current sinks, and wired them with copper wire. Opposed in the wateron each side. I ran the wire through holes below the top lip of the bucket and connected the two sinks together. They are the positive connection. The hanging tongs are the negative, hanging between the sinks. I connected the leads of the 12v battery charger, plugged it in and turned it on. It's been simmering since 3pm.

This is the results after 3 hours. The tongs and rings on them are nearly clean. The main (round) ring needs more soaking tomorrow.

Today I cleaned up the positive sinks, replaced the copper wire with metal, and started a new batch of Sodium Bicarbonate. The last run was 3-4hrs, I'll let it go overnight and check it.

The tongs were checked and pulled from the tank again this morning.

The tongs themselves are totally clean.
The rings are near totally clean.
The primary ring is the part which was heavily scaled, and needs more time. All of the surfaces were wire brushed, then back into the tank for more massaging. I'll check them again tomorrow.

They're loooking good! 👍
