Hello, is there any attachment out there for a Log Splitter? Either homemade or store bought. I would imagine it to go off the rear 3 pnt.

There is mixed opinions on the three point log splitters.
I personally think a stand alone unit is way better, #1 reason you don't tie up a tractor that can move wood around, #2 they are slower than a stand alone unit.

Yup, there are bunches of them. If you do a google search for three point hitch log splitters. Some work off the tractors hydraulics if you have rear remotes. Or you can get them all inclusive with a pto hydraulic pump and reservoir tank.

Personally, i just rent a gas powered one for the weekend for 75$. The trick is to find a mom and pop rental company thats only open monday thru friday. You rent the unit for saturday, and sunday is free :D

Look on the internet and someplace you will find how to make your backhoe into a vertical type splitter. We have a guy in town here running such a set-up on a full size hoe and there is always a bunch of split wood coming out of the tree trunks he is working with.

I run a splitter off the tractor hydraulics, for the past 4-5 years.
It has 3pt connections, but I have no need to move my splitter.
I also have no need to maintain another engine.
Yes, tractor is stationary. In my case, this is not a problem.

YMMV...notnew...

My son will be building one of these this weekend.
He bought the kit on eBay, driveshaft, bearings and cone.

I had a similar splitter to that about 30 years ago. It had a 5x5 1/2' lug pattern to bolt to a Ford, Jeep, Scout etc rear axle with the wheel off and jacked up in the air, Idling. They were referred to as "A Montana Barstool"

Well, he got it finished today, and it works.
This is some fresh cut Spanish Oak, and it's sorta stringy.
Tomorrow is the real test, getting some Live Oak which was cut several years ago.
Their sale was banned here in states in the early 80's because there was no way to shut it off, but they are still made and sold in the UK.
When he puts it on his tractor it will have a kill switch to shut his tractor down.

Im impressed. Have wanted one of those myself.
Can see its quite simple in design. Could build the screw on my lathe, would just need to harden it after. Got me thinkin...
Thanks for sharing.

My friend I have spent too many years looking at stuff people do to injure, maim, and kill them selves. Some have been doing things that make me shiver for years with no ill effect, then one day, bingo it happens. And the old I don't know what happened I been doing that for years and nothing ever happened. Well today the odds caught up with you, end of story. And your right anything with a moving part is not your friend. And has to be treated as if its going to kill you, because it may

One reason I posted one of those particular video's is because the builder did build in a little bit of "guard" into his design. One of the old truck video's

My dealer has one out back in his junk pile. I offered to buy he would not sell as they were considered to dangerous and the manufacturer had recalled them. Maybe that is why they are sold in kit form now. Think of yourself as a piece of wood as it wraps you up and maybe leaves a good pair of boots behind.
