I’m looking for ideas on how to load my Polaris Ranger midsize with 42 in bed with a 66 in bucket. I can imagine that there would be occasions when it would be much faster to take a load to a distant area with the Ranger.

One thought was to buy/build a 36 inch bucket. Another was to build sides that angle out a foot on each side.

Other ideas?

Just fill 1 half of bucket I've done it with mine to fill neighbors rtv with manure for garden. I suppose it may be easyer to fill bucket and spill some over back and clean up pile, and if you dont want to scratch up your ranger put a protective rubber flap so you un fold to hang down on over back while loading just like 2 feet long it would protect from hanging up on ball hitch or gravel etc getting in your receiver or near rear of ranger too just my 2 cents of thought lol

Just open the tailgate and let the excess spill off.

Ikc1990 has it right, just drive into the pile of material at an angle, only scoop 1/2 bucket, and then approach the Ranger on a 45 so you empty the bucket diagonally.

For exactly this scenario, my neighbor built a plywood box arrangement for the bucket on his JD that blocked the outer ends of the bucket, leaving only the center 30" or so of the bucket open. Worked great for awhile, but then fell apart under the abuse.

build two wooden cubes, 1' wide ( (66-42) /2=12" )
clamp to bucket
now you have a custom 42" bucket.....

BTW milk crates will if you're moving mulchy stuff...

I was thinking to use a few pieces of timber or railroad ties to block off one side of the bucket. Timbers would hold up for a long while where as the plywood box gave up.

See post #3 by ItBmine. I've hauled many loads on the Ranger and I've used a tractor with a 5' bucket and a 6' bucket. No added features needed. Tail gate up or down, doesn't really matter. Dump the loader into the bed with the side of the bucket furthest from the front just spilling out. Clean what was spilled and put in the next bucket and repeat.

I am somewhat amazed why loading (any bed or trailer) is a difficult obstacle.

Since it’s a Polaris and not a RTV ...just dump it into the drivers seat. :ROFLMAO:

I guess what you call levity, a comment about someone's possession is Ok, but if I comment about your "levity" it's a personal attack.

Is it really that difficult for you? Can you really not comprehend the difference between joking about a THING versus attacking a PERSON?

Come on D2. Geo doesn't like being called out. Only he and a couple others are allowed to call names etc.

To the OP,

1. Fill bucket with material
2. Locate bucket above spot where you want to dump it
3. Dump it

Try to let gravity do the work, it will save you a bunch of time.

Your response tells me a bit about your personality. You make joking remarks about something someone else owns when you don't even know them. Whether you're the greatest comedy act around or not, don't practice on the new person in the group. Just common courtesy.
